I personally know 2 who are dropping off. I have read few other posts here and there which i think are not reliable.

Hello Everyone,
Does someone know if UCSF sent out 24 or 28 acceptances this year.

Has anyone heard from ucsf today? A person i know got accepted today. She was in high alternate list

No way...nobody on the high alternate list was intimated today. Mary Pham said that they haven't moved on to the high alternate list yet and the ranking is internal.

She said she got a mail at 4.30 pm saying that she has been accepted.

Does anyone have an idea about the total number of students in High alternate list?

I know 8 by name but not sure about exact number probably 10. Did somebody get low alternate or a rejection to do the math as 65 candidates took the bench exam

out of 66, 28 got selected, a few got rejected and rest of candidates who were interviewed were divided into high and medium priority, yesterday two from high priority list were accepted... i don't know the exact numbers...

Yes the news is true. And now since the high alternate list is moving keep fingers crossed.
But it would be nice if we knew the exact number of high alternate candidates. So far I keep on reading 10-15 max. I really hope no more than 15. And since 2 are gone now there will be max 13 high alternate candidates.
Does anyone have any last year statistics about the wait list?

According to what Mary pham told me and according to the information i collected from others.. I got to know that 66 were interviewed. 28 were accepted. 5 or 6 were sent rejections. Rest 32 were divided into two parts. Which means about 16 were waitlisted on high priority and 16 medium priority. Even i got to know that 2 ppl were moved from high alternate list to acceptance status yesterday. I do not know of anyone else who got accepted yesterday. I also know that a person from high alternate list will not be taking up the seat as she is already into upenn.

Are you sure there's no low priority, because a current student told me there was a low priority last year.
And did Mary Pham tell you that there are 28 acceptances???

Yes Mary pham told me that there are 28 seats and that there is no low priority

UCSF I am sure has low priority on their list. I was in the medium alternate list last year and I know around 5 people were in the low priority. Please confirm your resource.

Good, so my calculations were not wrong all the way. 😉
:xf::xf: So we still have 13 students in high alternate list.:xf::xf:

Don't worry, you have nice GPA from dental school you will be selected this year...

Mary pham herself told me. I am going with what she said

Actually mary pham told me that there were no rejections. She said only medium or high priority. But when i spoke to a guy who did not get either of them and asked him to call her. He said that he was told that there were few rejections around 6

Do you know how many pple are taking ucsf as they might have multiple acceptances so we can look forward to next shift in alternate list

I know only two people personally who were dropping ucsf for other schools. I have seen many other people else where( on fb n sdn) discussing about their multiple acceptances. But i am not sure if those ppl opted other schools or ucsf. I also know only two ppl from high alternate list who moved to acceptance list. So i assumed that those two seats were filled by these two ppl from high alternate list. And to be frank i think that as of now all the seats are full as the last date for fee payment was dec3rd. So they sent out acceptances on dec4th to the next ppl on alternate list.

The only chances we have are the ppl who were sent acceptances on high list should reject if they have multiple acceptances or later next year if somebody gets into other schools like boston, texas, minnesota.
So just keep your fingers crossed

I heard a guy on fb deciding b/w Upenn and UCSF....Anybody know where he's going?? 😛 Just curious!

Y wud they decide between Boston and ucsf ?? Nerb and a better school .. B u

There is no way Boston is better than USCF. UCSF is an amazing school, have you checked rankings, money, location and talked to seniors. Even BU students would say UCSF. 👍 I'm not gaining anything out of this for those who think I want to get into school, I got into Buffalo and have not interviewed at either of the two schools mentioned. I'm just an outsider observing. Good luck with the decision.

Everything is a matter of personal choice (friends and family location, comfort of moving, future goals in dentistry, research or clinical orientation)
