Hey guys. so here's my story:
For the last two years I've been attending a community college. I am transferring to a 4-year college officially in the fall. I've planned my classes though, so that I could get my degree in a year. So I applied to dental school this year in hopes of getting in for Fall 2007. Obviously I don't have any 4-year college coursework on my AADSAS application, but I didn't think this was a problem until I got an email from UCSF...
"The University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry is in receipt of your AADSAS Application. Unfortunately, the review of your AADSAS information indicates that you are presently ineligible for admission consideration to UCSF owing to one or more of the reasons indicated below:
** Your AADSAS application presents insufficient 4 year-college units for review consideration.
Since you are ineligible for admission at this time due to the reason indicated above, we do not expect you to complete the additional UCSF supplemental application packet, nor pay the separate application fee. Therefore, your AADSAS application is hereby cancelled."
UCSF wasn't my first choice of school of anything, but this just got me worried that maybe some schools would cancel my application for the same reason, and that everything I've been doing was a waste of time and money. I didn't see any of this as a requirement anywhere before.
what do you guys think? Will most schools not like this? Or is UCSF just picky?
Feeling worried and depressed,
kb
