I've heard from several of the UCSF EM faculty that we would be getting a residency program in 2008, but it's beginning to look more and more like it will really happen. From this month's SAEM newsletter:

CALIFORNIA: The University of California San Francisco/ San Francisco General
Hospital Emergency Medicine residency program is searching for an experienced
Program Director to start in summer 2006. The PGY 1-4 program, likely
starting in 2008, will have 10 residents per class and features a dedicated
research track. This is a superlative research environment with superb clinical
rotations, and offers an unmatched quality of intellectual resources. The
University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. Qualified applicants
are encouraged to apply, including minorities and women. For information,
contact Dr. Michael Callaham, Chief of Emergency Medicine, UCSF c/o
Sarika Parekh, residency coordinator ([email protected]).

2007 would be gooder

2006 would have been best.. 😀 not that I would have gone there... but the sooner the better... i think...

Yeah...gooder, sooner, nower (esp. 2007er), and some more of that stuff.

I know a few folks fear new programs, but I would be taking a serious look if this program started in 2007. Damn...

Esp as a 4 year program!

yeah
2007 would be "goodest"
They already have a program in Fresno, right?

2008 is definitely more worser than 2006...

u know what's worsest? living expenses in SF. can a poor out-of-town resident survive there?
