UCSF sent me an invite a couple minutes back. Its my first so I am very excited. My UCSF secondary was the last one I sent out, while my first few (Mich, UNC, UDM) I haven't heard from.

Now for the obligatory silly questioning: Does anyone know what percentage of their interviewees get accepted? For UoP its something like 95% or something similarly high. If anyone knows what this is for UCSF and wouldn't mind sharing that would be much appreciated 😀

Thanks in advance to those knowledgeable few.

Congratulations man! This is the first I have seen from UCSF.

Very happy you started getting interviews!

Based on doc's spreadsheets,

in 2011

OOS - 50% interviewed were accepted
In-State - 52% interviewed were accepted

I also received an invitation half an hour ago. I'm so excited! !

That is awesome! My stats are similar 19/19 though. Do all of you that got invited have research and publications? I am really hoping to get an interview at UCSF, but don't have any research experience.

I just received interview invite from UCSF last night as well! This is also my first invite and UCSF is actually my last hope when I send out application. My interview date is on October 22. Does anybody have the same interview date with me?

Which batch were y'all?
And when did you complete your applications?
For example, I know I was 2nd batch (AADSAS mailed out on 7/6) but my LOR's didn't get in until 8/1 (committee letter...) I haven't gotten a rejection/interview from UCSF yet

I'm not sure which batch I was on...
AADSAS mailed out my app on June 22, but I completed secondary app on Aug 18. (I took DAT on Jul 17).

What are your stats pooh? And what batch are you?

My stats wasn't that great to be honest. I was so surprised when I get interview from UCSF
AA 19/PAT 19/ Sci 20
GPA: 3.49

Congrats pooh & to the rest who got an interview! I hope I hear from them soon!! 🙂

I got an interview yesterday too for October 22!!! See everyone there 😀

Oct 22nd for me too.

@ Swoops - Plenty of research and 1 publication, though I can't speak for everyone.

@ debyeh77 - Mailed 7/6. DAT mailed 7/20 Supplemental submitted 8/4. I've not been "the first batch" but I did finish most of my stuff fairly early. I guess only UCSF liked me enough to call me in for an interview 😳

@sacapuntas: 52%...aww come on UCSF!!! Oh well at least its 2% more than 50-50. Thanks for digging up the info though! You're the man.

@ the rest - I'll see the interviewees on the 22nd. For those who haven't yet been invited, I'll do a little prayer and hope you hear from your target schools soon.

FREAKING CONGRATS! I told you this was going to be a great week for you.

congratulations you all....only one question "Is there a choice for interview date? or it's carved in stone?"

they give you a date, you can reschedule only if you have an exam, dat, or medical reasons. looks like it's pretty set in stone

what if you have another interview the same day!!!

Well if the other one lets you reschedule you're ok. UCSF folks probably won't let you reschedule!

Hi all!

Just wondering if any of you received a confirmation email saying your application was complete before the interview invite.

I submitted my supplemental on 8/13 and only received the confirmation of payment but thats all I've received. I'm OOS and just hoping to hear back soon :xf::xf:

im in the exact same boat.

I just posted this question but I'm not sure where it went, so here it is again. Sorry for the redundancy.

my status changed from "awaiting additional information" to "received/under review". Does this mean that they are reviewing my application right now even though my secondaries are not yet in? Is this possible, anyone have this happen? Or does it simply mean that I am in the to-be-reviewed pile? I'm so excited because UCSF is one of my top choices!

Also, does anyone know if they are done with pre-dec interviews?

Thanks!

I submited my application on August and I didn't have my UCSF status on AADSAS until two days ago and it's Received/under review although I have not received any emails for secondary application

Interesting. I guess the received/under status might not actually mean that it's being reviewed for interviews then.

I submitted my primary application very early, so that may be why I got the supplemental so quickly. If you met the minimum
requirements I'm sure you'll get yours sometime soon!

You guys, I'm having the same issue with a couple other schools so I am going to call them on Tuesday after my SF interview. So long as you don't call and basically demand an interview, I am sure they understand we are all anxiously awaiting adcom responses. UCSF folks don't pick up the phone, but if you leave a message they will get back to you in a week's time (or less) and are very nice and polite on the phone.

Any more interview invite from UCSF?

I got a call on Monday for an interview this Friday! I was on the list to be called but they asked me last minute because I'm local and I think they had some cancellations due to the hurricane. Not sure...

Wow congrats man!....really short notice...good luck!

Does anyone know if CA schools offer in-state tuition after a year?

I know for sure UCSF does👍
But instate tuiton for ucsf is still ridiculously expensive

For those who had interviews at ucsf...how did it go? How did you like it? Was it a stressful day or were they just trying to get to know you? Congrats to those who got interviews!

I really like my interview day at UCSF! It's very organized and the staffs there are super friendly. After the presentation, we have nice lunch and interview right after. I would suggest you bring some mint gums and a mirror...because they didn't even let you have 5 mins break after lunch! I didn't even finish my sandwich and they already call out our names for interview...So just make sure that your breath doesn't stink and nothing stuck in your teeth lol.
It was very relaxing and what I like about the interview is that we actually sit next to each other at a table in the simulation lab, so I just feel like I was talking to a friend. Unlike other schools, interviewer and interviewee sit across from each other over a huge table...
Good luck on your interview! If you got one at UCSF, you will love it.

Looks like they are starting to send out interview invites again! There's hope for us late applicants!!

Good luck guys. Just 1 tip - be prepared to have your staff interview with a non-science non-dentist profs.
