Hey guys,

For those of you attending UCSF, how important is a laptop for the curriculum? I have a PC which "meets the requirements" but I am wandering how much use a laptop will be to me?

Also the laptop comes with Gold Technical Support Service, 3 yr NBD On-site service and Complete Care. I am wandering if UCSF will have a DELL guy there all the time ready to fix any computer problems and that is waht the NBD On-site means.

I have a laptop, but I don’t plan on carrying it around. The required 15” display makes it too cumbersome--that may be because I have a widescreen. The students I've talked to don't use laptops. I think you’re fine.

they changed it this year. the recommended lap top only weighs 4.67 lbs and its 11 by 9 inches with a 14.1 inch screen (screens are measured diagonally).

hello, i am in my 3rd year at ucsf and i never needed a laptop. a desktop at your apt with internet connection is fine. although i would recommend getting high speed internet because all kinds of stuff is put online to download and review.
