I am in my last year of med school here at UCSF and am doing a year away to get a master's at Columbia in NY. Am looking to live with another student and would love to find someone in the UWS area to room with.

Try craig's list fo nyc. Also, Columbia has a housing site where you can try and find people there.

Definately stick to the UWS. Keep in mind, Columbia *grad* school is not near columbia medical school/hospital.
