UCSF Question?
Started by DrDientes
Does everyone that applies for UCSF get a secondary application? Or do they actually choose who might have a chance and gets a secondary application?
According to their website they issue a secondary app to anyone who meets the min requirements.....But i have heard of people meeting the minimum and not receiving it, but i think it was due to error.
Yeah I know of someone who is way more qualified than me, but didn't get an invite for a secondary application? And someone else who on paper has lower stats then the same person who didn't get and invite, yet she got an interview from them? It just doesn't make sense to me.

The application process to DS is pretty crazy, i know.
everyone who meets the basic requirements (DAT, GPA) gets it.
Call James Betbeze, director of admissions at UCSF and simply ask
415-514-0770 or BetbezeJ@dentistry.ucsf.edu

Is it really that easy to get into ucsf? That is pretty much the dental school I am set on attending.

I have no idea where you go the impression that UCSF is easy to get into?? Its one of the top schools' in the country.
Plus there is no such thing as an "easy dental school to get into"
everyone who meets the basic requirements (DAT, GPA) gets it.
I believe this person goes to UCSF thats why I was asking...

Still, how did you make the assumption that its easy to get into? He/she just stated that whoever meets the minimum will get the secondary app.
Yeah UCSF is def not easy to get into. I agree with Tommy I don't there are any easy dental school(though I wish sometimes this were true). I'll have to wait and see what happens with my app. I am a late submitter with a less than stellar GPA so my hopes aren't high at all, but I do like UCSF alot and hope to at least get into their post-bac if I don't make it to dental school this year
you asked who gets the secondary, I replied....how you jumped to conclude that UCSF is easy to get into is beyond me.

Go eat your turkey, laundry. I'll take it from here.
If you meet the minimum stats, we send you a secondary. If we like your secondary and everything else, we ask you for an interview. If we think you're the person that fits what we're looking for in a student, we accept you. If you make a good drinking buddy, workout buddy, and what not we'll make you our friend.

Hahaha this is the best response I have ever heard. UCSF sounds way chill if all the students are like you are/were.
