Hey everyone!
This thread is for UCSF's Class of 2010. Many of you received an email from Mark offering to answer whatever questions our class may have about the school and the UCSF experience. I've been in contact with Mark and we decided to open this forum so that everyone can have easy access to each other's questions and Mark's answers. Feel free to write whatever questions you may have. I know Mark is going to do his best to answer them for all of us. If you didn't get the original email from Mark, I am going to paste it below. I think this is going to be a very productive and helpful thread! Thanks everyone and thanks Mark for all your help!!!
"My name is Mark. I'm just finishing up the first year of dental school here and am writing you all to provide information about the school. If you want to know all about the student housing (I'm at Mission Bay), private housing near school, financial aid, getting a jump on the schoolwork (I know there are some go getters out there), changing residency (I'm from Utah and can tell you what you need to do to get a jump on that), what you actually will be doing during first year, what books you should buy and not buy (you can really save some $$$$), or anything else let me know. I asked to do this on my own and am not tied to the administration so you can get the "real" scoop on things from me or others in our class I will send your questions to. We're actually getting hammered with tons of finals over the next couple of weeks so if you can wait until the 16th to ask tons of stuff that would be appreciated. If you have something that can't wait, I'm at your disposal.
This is a really great place and you should be very excited to come here. That said, there are some things that aren't so awesome and I'd love to tell you all: the great, the good, and the not so good.
