Anyone get a call from UCSF about scholarship offers? I wanna see what they are offering to students.

Has UCLA offered anyone a scholarship yet or does anyone know about when they would inform students about scholarship offers? I'm just checking cuz I know UCSF has started making calls.

Got a call 2 days ago for a $5k scholarship.

Did they offer you the scholarship before you had to put down a deposit?

Got a call this morning - got the regents! 26,000 over 4 years. = )

I just got notice from UCLA of both a Regent's and a Dean's Scholarship. The Regent's appears to be a 4-yr scholarship of 5k each year, while the Dean's I am not sure, but at least a 5k lump sum. Just sweetened the pot for me for UCLA.😀

good lord! 👍 That would definitely sway me to choose SF over LA.

It was an email with two PDF files late Thursday afternoon. You guys can check your email now. Maybe you just got a Christmas present 🙂

I've got the same question that "jekl" posted above that hasn't been anwsered.

Did they offer the scholarship before you put a deposit down or after?

if you read above, i believe it was harjay who said he got the scholarship but had already chosen/put down a deposit at another school

I received both scholarship offers before I put down any deposit on either ucsf or ucla

While I am in the process of putting in the deposit for UCLA, (did the online paperwork, but haven't sent $ yet.. so I guess it doesnt really count), I got a call from UCSF for a $5k. I just got an email this morning from UCLA with a PDF attached for the dean's $10,000.

I'm stoked.😀

I'll consider it a birthday present (3 days away!)

Congratulations. 10000 is a lot, on top of getting in state tuition.

argh...ever since this whole applying business started, I hate wkends! theres no mail, no emails....ugh....

anyone get any more from ucla?

Keep in mind that UCLA only interviewed no more than 50 people and therefore probably barely filled half the class. The second round of interviewees has just begun. Therefore, relax as the admissions office probably has saved quite a few slots for people in the second batch as well. Also, there are bound to be folks who are going to decline, although I am keeping mine. 😀

Yes, I know that you have been admitted. I am just saying that since half the class remains to be determined, UCLA is bound to hold more than a few scholarship cards up its sleeves. So far it does not appear that many people have gotten money from them thus far, so they may very well issue more in Feb/March. I do consider myself fortunate to be offered money at the school I most wanted to go to, though.

ah, i see....u think? i hope ur rite... 🙂

good job again! a lot of ppl complain about it being hard to get into dental school--but u truly do show that its worth it 🙂
