I'm looking over the UCSF secondary and they provided 3 blank pages at the very end. I'm I suppose to use only those 3 pages for the questionnaires and cannot add more? In addition, is it alright to hand write or I must use a typewritter?

By the way, what is the difference between DDS only and DDS/PhD degree. Do I must take more classes or something? Please help me out.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say, "yes". PhD usually requires 6 years of post bacc time...

How long does the answers have to be? couple paragraphs or essay length?

the dds/phd is 8 years, and they want you to end up doing research and teach. not practice.

Is it me or you guys also find those questions annoying! specially # 10 with its "state briefly". any how, I wish you guys enjoy my application fee at ucsf because i dont think i have a chance there as i understand from the yellow post card!

nice...

let's not forget that asians still don't outnumber whites at the dental schools yet...but if you want to keep count...this would only be the second time another race took over this continent from the top down.

I'm glad I'm not foreign - that yellow card would have scared me off! As for the essay questions, I'm finding them difficult to answer within a paragraph. Basically, all of my answers are going to leave them hanging so that they want to know more (when really I just can't think of ten catchy sentences to end each answer).

One tip: download a free copy of Adobe Acrobat Professional from the Adobe site and edit the document as a pdf. You have to add a bunch of text boxes, but it sure beats using a typewriter and my handwriting sucks.

And why the heck do we have to repeat all of our AADSAS application information? I'm really getting sick of this - hear that NOVA? You too!

DDS/PhD at UCSF is a 7-year program. You will spend the first 3 years with your DDS classmates. In your 4th and 5th years, you will spend 80% of time in PhD classes and 20% of time in student clinic. The last two years pretty much are the same as 4th and 5th, except that you may either work at the faculty practice group or teach in student clinic.

so to sum up the post so far. We should keep the answers within 3 pages,

I also have another question. The app. said to submit both copies, the registrar and admissions copy. However, do I have to send in 2 check of $60 or just 1 check? Thanks
