Hello,
So I just got invited to an interview for early interview/early decision process. Has anyone gotten this or done this?
In general has anyone had an interview for UCSF? What's their style? I will also have to do a timed essay before my interview...any ideas of what this might be like?
Thanks!

How were you notified? By email?

I haven't heard anything back from them yet :[ Congratulations though, I'm sure you'll do great. I heard that they ask a lot situational questions ("If you were a PT and so-and-so happened......" or "Tell me a time when you had to....", etc and questions that let them know how knowledgable you are about the field.

I just an interview invite too!! I have to retake the GRE though =( I only got a 4 on the AW....The interview is on Jan 9th and I was notified by email.

I just recieved an invite for Jan 9th as well! It's so odd to know that I will see people from this forum there.

So are your two invites part of the early interview/early admission process?

It doesn't say specifically in the interview packet that it's for an early decision. It is a pretty early interview for the program though. Their interviews typically start in late Jan/early Feb.

The email I received just said we would like to invite you to interview with the rest of our applicants, so I'm assuming it is just the regular admissions interview. I was not aware they had an early decision process.

oh ok. yeah mine said something about being an early interview/early admission process, although i'm not sure exactly what that means. i'm interviewing on wednesday (yikes). I guess there's a timed write before the actual interview...do you guys know anything about that, what to expect or anything?
thanks!
good luck with yours--be sure to tell me how they go.
where else did you guys apply?

I don't know anything about what to expect in the timed write...sorry I wish I could help you out. Good luck with your interview!!

I also applied to MGH, Boston U, U of Washington, Puget Sound, U of Montana, Northern Arizona, and Idaho State

Have you heard from MGH yet? Still eagerly waiting here.

No I haven't. I got an email a few days ago that my application was complete and under review. Their website said they usually send stuff out mid December to mid January by regular mail. Hopefully it is sooner rather than later!

So the interview went very well, for those who are scheduled to interview I'm happy to share some pointers. I actually got a call on Monday inviting me to the program! i'm super stoked.
In addition I just got accepted to Mount St Marys today.

any pointers would be awesome!
Im interviewing this Saturday, and Jan 4th.

congrats! If you're willing to share, I'd be interested in knowing how you prepared for the interview. And of course the kinds of questions asked, or if it was more conversational than inquiry.

Congrats!!! How was the timed essay? I'm a little nervous about that...

Thanks!
SO it was pretty chill. The timed write was fine, a very straightforward opinion question about healthcare. Be prepared for it to be handwritten, and they only give you one sheet of unlined paper.
The do have a list of questions, all pretty straightforward, about your experience, why you're interested in the field, how you want to contribute, your five you after graduation plan etc.
I dressed pretty nicely, and she actually commented on my outfit in a positive way, so I'd definitely say that's a good way to make a good impression. Also be prepared with a few, educated questions to ask about the program at the end when they ask if you have any...that's a great way to let them know you are invested, know what you're talking about, and have prepared.
any other questions?
good luck all!

just curious, what did you wear? i am thinking of wearing either a pant or skirt suit, would that be too formal?

I wore nice pants, a nice button up shirt and a vest...kind of just short of a suit, but nicer than a button up with khakis. I think as long as you look clean, crisp and put together it'll make a good impression.

Hi All!

I just received an email for an interview with UCSF! They asked that I retake the GRE but I wanted to know if this is some filtering system? Do they ask many applicants to retake the GRE to get an interview?

Also, the interview I'm scheduled for is January 29th. Any other pointers? Or what were some specific questions they asked? What was it like? Did they have grad students there to interview you as well and greet you? Is it one-on-one? Any details would really help! Thanks so much!

Cheers,
Jodi😀
