Hi,

I have an interview coming up at UCSF. I'm worry about the Short Essay portion of the interview. What are they looking for in your short essay?

I'm bad at writing. Any advice for the short essay section? Is it after or before your interview? I would really appreciate any inputs. Thank you.

Good luck every body!

Essay is after interview. In 30 mins you should be able to construct sentences correctly and the point of the quote. I think that is all I can help you with. Good luck

what?? short essays for UCSF?? what exactly is this? Can someone please explain???

I heard some schools they ask you to write something. I don't really have a problem putting together something, but I would like to know what topic do they ask you to write. I hope I don't mess it up, because I am so dependent on word for writing. Anyway, if anyone can provide more info about the essay. Thanks.

Pitt has a short essay at the interview as well.

For both UCSF and Pitt, if someone else wrote your personal statement, they will find out at the interview 😱 lol

I think thats the point to see if your ps and essay have any correlation. As for the subject, its different for every interview. It will be a famous quote from a famous person.

Seriously, do NOT stress about this essay. The interviewers are simply looking to see that you know how to place words together into sentences.

In the past there has been a problem with people paying others to write amazing personal statements/secondary applications. These applicants get accepted and do poorly in any classes that require writing of a paper/development of a presentation...you can see the problem.

Bottom line...DO NOT STRESS. As long as you can write as well as you phrased your post above, you'll be fine.

GOOD LUCK!!!
