Does anyone know whether USCF screens apps before they send out their supplemental apps? Are there certain minimum requirements for receiving a supp. app? Or does anyone who applies get one?

Thanks.

They do screen for minimum requirements like 3.0 GPA and 17 DAT.

Hey,

Thanks for your response.

I think they haven't responded because they must not have received my DAT scores yet. I took it 2 weeks ago.

I'm confused. Do you know how long it takes for schools to receive the scores after the test? I called one school and they said they were able to view them, and other schools have said they don't have them yet. I don't get it.

I submitted my score request august 5th, received the secondary august 14th. I wouldn't worry too much, you should expect one soon!

Not to scare you here, but here is my scenario. I took my DAT on July 22nd. My application was mailed out on August 11th, and I got an email from UCSF with a link for downoading the secondary application on August 12th [a day later]. Is not that weird?

your scores and grades are absolutely amazing. that's why. 🙂

Okay, for the essay questions on the UCSF supplementary it says in the directions:

"Please avoid repeating information already outlined in your AADSAS personal statement."

Does this really mean that we can't mention activities or accomplishments mentioned in the personal statement??

That's a good question. They just sent me the secondary application today and I was wondering about the same.

I'm working on it as well. I don't think you should feel you can't mention them at all, but instead offer new information or a different perspective about those activities.

Anyone else feel the essay blocks are a bit long? I tested it out and each of the long ones translates into 1 1/2 double spaced pages...which is nearly as long as my personal statement. Oh well, I'll embellish a little O🙂

Hell yeah I thought it was long. I seriously think this was the hardest secondary out of all of them (although I'm not applying to UCLA so I can't include that one in my comparison). There were a million essay questions and for me half of them were really hard to answer. In comparison, Penn's secondary was much much much easier.

The other secondary that I hate is UNC. I don't even know if I've submitted that. Maybe I shouldn't bother. 🙂

Hmm....my scenario is yet again different after reading this thread. I started AADSAS in may when it came out. Due to school grades and stuff not being in until end of may.......I e-submitted June 16th. I also sent stuff like checks/pics and things that schools wanted as soon as I submitted AADSAS. Yatta yatta yatta....fast forward to July 24th, which is when I received the UCSF supplemental application. However, there is no way they could have had my DAT scores.......b/c I took the DAT July 29th!! Anyway, as of 2nd week August, schools are just starting to say complete........probably due to getting my real printout from test day.

Anyway, on the supplemental essays, I used it as a chance to elaborate even more than in my PS, and really go in depth. Like they said, try not to repeat stuff from AADSAS. Use it as a chance ot add more.
