Where can I find the UCSF Supplemental Application?
Is it possible to work on it before submitting?

They have to email it to you as far as I know. That's how I got it.

I thought you could look at the questions and work on them.... I didn't realize it was it was looked down upon to do that. I thought it was like UPenn's supplemental.

It is like other secondaries. Do some research, you will find that on line. it is not bad idea you work on it before UCSF email. UCSF secondary is not like DAT question and nothing wrong to know what the questions are and it is nothing to do with integrity. If you already filled up other schools supplemental keep a copy of them life will be so easy when you are filing up UCSF or other schools secondaries. 😉

They're very standard questions about community involvement, leadership activities, "why you should be chosen over others" stuff

I'm sure you already have an idea of how to answer these

Well, the secondary web page explicitly says do not go further if you did not receive a link to the web site. Sounds to me like they don't want people to get access to it until they give it.

I think someone already shared the link. not on this thread though. If you know for sure you are going to be receiving secondary (meet all the requirement), then it doesn't hurt to start on it and send the package as soon as you get the e-mail --you have to fill them out and send back to UCSF within 21 days. Try searching for the thread. not sure which one it was..

I'm not completely sure for UCSF, but some schools will indeed reject applicants before even issuing them a supplemental/secondary application.

Just from the nature of things, this appears to be the case with UCSF.

you wont get a 2ndary unless u fulfill the min requirement ucsf is looking for. it doesnt mean you're rejected already, you just wont move forward in the reviewing process b/c to ucsf, your application is not complete (if you're missing DAT score, LOR, etc) or does not qualify (if u have < their min DAT requirement or GPA requirement).

i am not 100% sure but I think i remember from the tour i took before they would just put your application on hold and move on with other applicants who do have complete applications. And you would sort of just be left there until they eventually fill up the class. i know of someone last year who applied but didn't hear anything back from ucsf at all, not even a rejection

But just to be sure though, I don't need to take any further actions (i.e. send processing fee) until I receive an email from UCSF? Thanks guys.

My mailing date was the 23rd and I got the email last week. They cashed my check on Monday. They will send you an email for the supplemental and then you mail the check.

anyone else think their rules are really strict on the secondary app? I mean after every sentence they say if you don't follow the rules, your app will be rejected. Hopefully they're not as mean as they seem on this app.

They are not mean at all as you might get a chance to find later on. They just give you clear instructions so that they can be more organized and efficient with the applications. I bet even with those instructions which are very clear people still tend to mess up somehow.

Yeah, just sit back and have positive thoughts. I almost feel like the school you get into was the school that was meant for you to get into, sound weird I know but when you get interviews you'll find one that just feels right
