Has anyone who is waitlisted for USC or UCSF heard back from these two schools?

I just called bob at sf and he said that admissions is meeting on friday the 22nd so some people could hear by monday possibly. He mentioned something about not a large amount of students being accepted next week. Then they are meeting on Feb 3rd. That's all I know. I didn't ask about waitlist exactly but I think he assumes I was since I interviewed in Nov. and haven't been rejected yet.

Thanks. Have you heard anything from UCSF recently?

Is it bad that I dont call to FOLLOW up at all with UCSF? Well I only call one time since my interview in Oct. They did tell us just to be patient and don't pest them. :xf:

I got an acceptance call from Dean Featherstone about an hour ago.

:soexcited::soexcited::soexcited::soexcited::soexcited::soexcited::soexcited:

Now the choice between UCLA and UCSF begins.......

i know for usc everyone is on an alternate list once they interview and brian said that they will be notifying on dec1,feb1, march1, april1. so we should still have a pretty good chance of getting in. if anyone here knows...if you still dont hear back from usc by april1, what are your chances of getting in as a waitlisted person?
-i actually like the program at usc and the pbl system, and i know its super expensive, but hopefully i'll be doing the navy HSPS program. thanks and goodluck to everyone this cycle!

woah. Dean Featherstone called you on a Sunday ? That's awesome.

Did you get off the waitlist though, or did you recently interview ?

I do not think it makes any difference. I called a twice since my interview, but they never asked my name or AADSASS ID. All they say is "we will contact you when there a decision is made". By the way, Peerless what schools did you get into? Where is your top choice?

Hey I got into kentucky and UOP on Dec 1st,. UOP has always been my dream school but after seeing all those changes UCSF has made to their facility, I dont know...it's PREEEETY tempting to go there too if I get in. Plus I'll get to save over 100K on my education so. . . . . ya if I do get in, it's gonna be down to the wires on which schools to attend. But either way I am in great hands for my DDS degree. Both are AMAZING AMAZING schools. I am really lucky and humbled to be given interview opportunities to those 2 schools along with my acceptance.

I DID do the right thing to contact all the other schools to withdrew my application but apparently NYU and Pittsburgh never got my voice message and they offered me interviews anyway. Declined both, but it just feels pretty cool that 5 schools actually wanted to interview me this cycle with my 3.3 GPA. 😍

Congrats. You got into really great schools. I especially like UOP for its three year program. By the way, did you apply to UCLA and USC too? Do you have any research or publications? What do you think are the strongest points in your application?

Yes I did apply to UCLA but not USC. Still haven't heard anything back from the school and it's really late, so I am probably not gonna hear back from UCLA at all, that's my prediction. And NO, I don't have any kinds of research and I am thinking maybe that's why UCSF is not as interested in me to offer me a spot yet. As far as my strongest points in my application. I really don't know, read my predents.com and you can be the judge on that one.😛 I not a superstar in any of the stuff that I do, but I do have everything except for research.

Look at predents for UCSF and UCLA average GPA and DAT scores for people who have been accepted this year. I think that is more of a reflection why neither of us have heard back from them (well I was waitlisted by UCSF but didn't hear anything today, so still under review).

Good luck everyone! I have an interview next week. Super excited!!!!!!!

Spoke to Bob today... The committee is meeting tomorrow and then a week from tomorrow. He said they hope to have all offers out by mid Feb.

Good luck to those of you in my shoes. Don't you just love the waiting game?:xf:

ya, I've been waiting for THAT school since Oct 5th and just gotta keep on waiting. Just someone else said, my GPA and DAT just not that competitive enough for this year's acceptancees I guess. On top of that, I don't have the research to back me up.

Peerless I am feeling just like you going into my interview, lower stats and no research, I almost feel like I have no shot, but I might as well just go to meet everyone I guess all I can do is hope they look passed my stats

You interviewed really early at UCSF and you got into UOP, I am sure you have a really good chance of getting into UCSF. They must like something in your application a lot, otherwise they would not interview you in October.

I'll be interviewing on the 1st too. Hope to see a few of you there, and good luck to everyone whose already interviewed and just waiting on the good news! 🙂

Does anyone know the names of the committee members making final acceptance decisions? Also, at my UCSF interview, I was interviewed by a professor, by a student, and had to write an essay. Are all these weighed equally when the committe makes a decision, or is the interview with the professor considered more important?

Also, what specifically are they looking for in the essays? (quantity? quality? creativity?).

Just got accepted to UCSF!!! Got the call at 8:30am pacific. I'm in-state. Good Luck to everyone that is still waiting. I'll make my decision fast so that this spot can open up asap if I'm not gonna take it.

😍I received Dean Featherstone's call too!! I'm so excited.😍

Did anyone else hear the next round being February 1 for USC? I had only heard them having acceptances in February, March, and April, not anything about what specific day of the month.

Congrats to everyone that was recently accepted to UCSF! Hopefully I will see you there next fall 🙂 PM me if you decide to accept the offer & I can give you the link to the facebook group!

Any good news?

Just thought I'll keep you guys are who waiting for UCSF still a little update. I spoke to admissions in person last Friday. And apparently after today, UCSF is DONE interviewing for the cycle. They gave the previous accpetancees 30 days to reply wheather they want to accept the offer or not, then we'll see who's lucky enough to get the spots that are gonna be opened up. Speaking of spots, there are 22 seats at UCSF currently that hasn't even been offered to anyone at this point yet. So I am gonna be bold here and make a preidiction that there are gonna be about 30 seats left at UCSF. Who knows, might be more or might be less. but ya, good luck to all of you!!!

I interviewed at UCSF last week and can confirm what peerless wrote.....approximately 20 seats have yet to be offered. We were also told that ~25 of the offers extended recently had not received deposits as of last week. Good luck everyone!

for the seats are gonna be offered to the ppl on the waitlist?

I interviewed back in November and i am still under review. My chance of getting in is really low but i still keep my finger cross.

To all of you if got place in waiting list <the waiting list are ranked btw>, if you are number from 1 to 10 on the waiting list, your chance of getting are really high. This is from my interviewer who told me that being placed on waiting list is actually a good thing.

Good luck everyone.

yea, its no specific date. just contacted usc and they said its not feb1 but most likely mid-february. sorry for the wrong information.lol. im still waiting to hear back from them too cuz theyre my top choice! goodluck

Thanks for clearing that up. It's a shame that they didn't give you a date, uncertainty is the worst part of this whole process.

For UCSF, is it better to be on a waiting list or still under review if you interviewed before December 1?

If you interviewed before december but did not get a respond, it means your application is still under review. Under review = Waitlist:xf:
By the way, when was your interview?

Not sure if this is true. I was told last week that if you are indeed wait listed, you would be told and would also receive a ranking.

Agree with above. I am not waitlisted or rejected, more like a limbo - just wondering which one puts you in a better position, waitlisted or still under review.

By the way, my interview was Nov 9 - and all of my data can be seen by clicking on my predents account 👍.

Today is Feb. 3rd. So some of us should be hearing from them soon!
