I was recently accepted into UCSF Amgen, but after speaking with the director at UCSD I found out I'm a top ten alternate and supposedly have a very good chance at being accepted (I'll find out tomorrow when those who have been accepted confirm or reject their acceptance.)
If I did get into UCSD Amgen program which program would be more prestigious or are they so similar the difference is negligible.
Honestly I'd prefer UCSD simply because its much closer to where I actually live, I could bring a car, and there's a female involved.
But from the things I've seen, UCSF has a larger stipend, and is more often cited as a top Amgen location.
I'm just torn, any advice/insight?
