hey guys, with only a few days left I’m running into some trouble deciding and wanted your opinion

Cornell:
Pros:
Full cost of attendance scholarship (living & tuition)

Cons:
Far from home (I like to visit my family)
No family/friends on the east coast
Many unknowns (new city & friends)
Less diverse class, which may be hard for me to find people to relate to.

UCSF
Pros:
Prestigious school
75% tuition covered
Still closeish to home
I have some family in SF
can potentially live with a cousin to minimize costs even more

Cons:
Living is expensive
Debt can potentially be ~120k

USC:
Pros:
Full tuition scholarship
Closest option to home
Thinking about doing emergency med and they have a great program here for that
Huge patient population

Cons:
Living can be expensive
Less prestigious

Based on what you said, I'd narrow it down between USC and Cornell due to being cheaper and/or proximity to family. Sounds like you're more excited about USC and $80k is pretty negligible in loans for a physician. It's right by your support system as well.

Lol as much as I’d like to advocate for Cornell, if you literally have one pro and it’s free tuition then maybe it’s not a good fit

Cornell. Why? NYC, 0 debt, and prestige.

Living in NYC is a once in a lifetime opportunity and you have it for free while receiving a world class medical education. You'll spend the rest of your life in SoCal, enjoy the world's "City" for 4 years.

0 debt. Buy a Mercedes AMG for med school graduation with the money you would've spent on living/tuition at either UCSF or USC.

Cornell has plenty of prestige. Sure, its less than UCSF in the medical community but who cares? If you're going into EM which is not very competitive, no residency program is going to care if you're from UCSF or Cornell. To the general population, Cornell is much more prestigious than UCSF.

I Like Cornell but I’d say go to UCSF. You don’t have a lot of pros. Man your friend won the dean scholarship at Cornell! Congrats to her.

With the money saved on tuition at Cornell, she could fly home one weekend per month to visit family and still have tons left over. I practice in SoCal now, went to med school in nyc and had a blast there.
