hi.
I'm a re-applicant. Last year I was "on hold" to interview at UCSF.
It wasn't a good thing for me - I was rejected, appealed (because you *can* appeal if you're not offered an interview- read the fine print) and was rejected again. Bummer.
None of my "on hold" schools (which happened to be UCI, SF, Davis, LA and SD- what a statistical anomaly, huh?) ultimately interviewed me. I had never even heard of such a thing.
*BUT*
on the other hand, when I called, sent letters of intent, etc, the admissions office staff were cool enough to tell me I had a 50/50 chance of getting an interview.
You probably won't hear anything until the end of March. Send letters updating your activities through the beginning of March, seriously.
And best of luck. I'm not trying to be a downer, I'm just telling you my experience.
