I have not heard a peep from these school post-interview other than Was U's letter that I should be prepared to wait a few months. Has anyone heard anything like a high priority placement or rejection post-interview from these schools? Any idea when the bad news start flowing?

hey a,
no word for me from washu, other than that letter.
i interviewed in early november -- how bout you?
fava

Hey everyone
I interviewed in early October, and nothing. Are they like Northwestern or something, with a few small batches of early acceptances, and then one super-batch in March?

Hey,
I got the long wait letter from WashU also. I work in a lab at WashU now with some of their md/phd's, they've told me a lot of people get in later in the spring or off the wait list, they actually both were waitlisted originally. Also, I have a friend who is a first year who interviewed October of last year and got in sometime around late March. Just keep waiting........

Siempre,

I remember that you called Wash U regarding the letter and they said it was by no means a hold. I am starting to disagree. A friend of mine who interview after me and is from the same region received an acceptance in late Dec. Waiting doesn't necessarily bother me, its the lack of clarity.

I dunno, I sorta feel like they are sending that out to a ton of people who then get accepted right away. I've heard of both things happening, you either get the letter and wait, or you get the letter then get in. Either way we're waiting and some others obviously aren't. oh well.

that letter does not in any way mean you are on hold or a wait list or anything!!!! i got that same letter, and then an acceptance the very next week.

I called Washu last friday cuz I am sick of waiting. The lady told me that there is no decision on my file and it is still in the committee,. I interviewed in early Nov.

Here's my theory on WashU: I think that the few people they have accepted so far are either MD/PhD or the people who they deem worthy of applying for the full scholarship. I know that the deadline for one of the full scholarships was Feb. 1st, so it makes sense that they would have to accept all the super all-stars asap. To my knowledge, all those who have been accepted so far have been invited to apply for the scholarship, and the deadline has past. Maybe they are just beginning to consider the rest of us mortals now. What do you think?

p.s. I interviewed Oct. 30th and haven't heard a peep other than the infamous "wait patiently" letter.

the scholarship that was due feb 1 was for women only. the other full scholarships that wash u gives out (like 13 of the 16 slots!) have personal deadlines, meaning that whenever you are accepted, you have a deadline about a month later.

From what I've been hearing about the people I know who got accepted, there is something going on with md/phd getting in earlier, and super-high mcat scores. I know of only three washU undergrads who have gotten in, and their average mcat was something like a 38. 2 of the 3 were md/phd and are basically negotiating with a bunch of schools for the best money offer. The third person took a Mayo acceptance. Out of the rest of the people I know personally who have applied, none have heard back yet. That somehow makes me feel a little better. Only another few months probably and we'll get something!!🙂

Got the UCSF high priority letter postmarked Jan 24, and have heard nothing since the wait letter from Wash U. I interviewed at UCSF on Oct 23.
