Ucsf??

My friend talked with admissions at UCSF this morning.They said they are not updating aadsas until later and that they will notify people by phone calls later today. I think probably anytime now. So Nervooouuss! I hope I get a call 🙂

It's already 5 PM central and I haven't seen any signs on here, predents or AADSAS of anything

didn't they guarantee some sort of decision? acceptance, wait list or rejection?

Uhh... I guess nothing is happening today? I did hear at the interview though that it's "within the first few days"
 
^ did they say they are trying to start tonight? My guess is at the earliest tomorrow.

oh yah, it's for reals!! i was soo excited i didnt even remember what the person told me after "congratulation, you've been accepted into ucsf school of dentistry class of 2015!"

does anyone know if we don't get a phone call today that means we're not in? or on waitlist or alternate?

it seems to me they started awful late so I'm not sure if all the calls will go out today or will continue to tomorrow

if anybody gets a call, someone should ask
say you have a friend whos waiting and ask when they're gonna stop 🙂
 
Just got the call! OMG I sounded like such an idiot on the phone... uhh, ohhh *speechless*

hey you guys! so I know a couple people that got a call that have last names ending in A's. Do you think the calls are alphabetical?

lol sorry i'm just worried.
 
id think they would call by your ranking on the list no? i think they have a ranking system if they rank u for the waitlist.. just a guess
 
Holy crap... just walked out of the library where I've been studying (no reception) and received an acceptance voicemail from Dr. Featherstone!

The last thing on my mind are my two finals tomorrow lol
 
does anyone know when UCSF sends an e-mail out to applicants who they haven't made a decision on? (rejection, still being considered, etc. et.c etc.?
 
I just called UCSF and they just informed me that all the acceptances calls have already been made....
 
I decided to call as well, and they confirmed that the next round of acceptance calls will be in January.

Therefore the above post is correct..... all December acceptances have been given out for now.
 
Did you happen to ask them if they knew when applicants would be notified if they got rejected?

no i didnt... i felt nervous calling in so I forgot to ask more questions... dont know why?

like I wanted to ask them about waitlists, rejections, etc.....

Bummer, I wish I'd get an email telling me I'm waitlisted so I'll stop thinking about this constantly!
 
yeah im really anxious and depressed right now... UCSF is my top choice...

i feel you...it's my top choice too...

maybe i'll try calling in to ask if other applicants will be notified of their standing in the process
 
Anybody actually know if they try to fill all their seats with the december interviews?


basically i just want to know if theres like 20-30 phone calls in january or just like 2-3 to fill spots that weren't taken

i'm so depressed i don't even want to eat
freaking sucks

i don't even want to go to dental school anymore

just feeling really down
hate to be a downer but

yeah.. I hate being a downer too..

but I hate everything right now.....

suddenly nothing stimulates me in life anymore.. I cant even study for my finals.....

60 offers were made in December, there are 88 seats total. I think they usually finalize the class by end of January/early Feb?

how did you find out there were only 60 offers made yesterday?

I think you are right about class being finalized in February.... There might be a couple spots that open up post-February as students change their mind and go to other schools.
 
Do you guys know the exact date that the next batch of acceptances will go out? And if we had a pre-Dec 1st interview are we still considered for the next batch of acceptances?

I have no idea...but I think someone said that the class is finalized in Feb/March.

Have any of you (those who weren't accepted Dec 1st) received any updates from UCSF? My friend said that last year when she wasn't accepted Dec 1, they e-mailed her saying that no action has been made on her application....I didn't get anything like that...

did any of you?
 
My status on AADSAS hasn't changed and I haven't received any information from UCSF. Has anyone else?

I haven't heard anything either. My friend said a lot of applicants year got an e-mail saying no decision was made on her application on Dec 1st (if they interviewed pre-dec). I guess theyr'e still working on that? i'm not sure...

My status went from received under review to application complete back to under review on Dec 2nd. Does anyone know what this means? I haven't been invited for an interview yet.

i have no idea, but if you haven't received a rejection--that's a good thing! you're still in the game for an interview. I have friends who interviewed and have already been rejected and others who weren't invited that have been rejected.

My status went from complete to under review to invited for interview and then back to underreview and nothing has changed since then... :/

Anybody hear any news on what UCSF is up to? I'd tend to believe that most acceptances at this point will be to post dec 1 interviews...seeing that I interviewed nov 1 i'm not liking my chances...but still no rejection so there's hope!
 
Yeah Im not liking my chances either. I interviewed in October, and its just so painful to wait another month to find out what they want to do with me. I guess I should just be grateful that I haven't been rejected yet. I know they've rejected a lot of really qualified applicants, and so I really shouldn't be complaining.


Anyhow, I was doing some "guesstimations", and since students have until December 30th to make a decision about UCSF, then this means UCSF may probably wait a few extra days after December 30th for any last second mail to come in for deposits. Also, they have interviews January 1st, 6th, 10th, so......

My guess is that theyll be making a new round of acceptance calls January 12, 2011?

apparently the admissions committee is out of the office for xmas break until Jan 3....the waiting game continues...
 
Jan 12th sounds great, any time in Jan sounds great actually. I thought they weren't going to send out another round of acceptances until Feb 1st because it looks like they have interviews going on on Jan 27th.
