I just recently got a UDM Dental School interview invite and I would like to know how the waitlist movement occurs? Normally do ppl get accepted off the waitlist???

Are u in UDM? Did u ever got a UDM interview invite? They have a giant waitlist. Usually if you're invited to interview, you dont normally get rejected right away and you get put onto a waitlist. A lot of people get accepted off the waitlist, but the waitlist is also very long. You'll have to check last year's thread to see when it starts moving, but it usually does pretty early I think.
Lets say I got admitted to UDM, after 4 years in UDM is it a requirement to do residency in 2023 since I start dental school in 2019?Are u in UDM? Did u ever got a UDM interview invite?
I got accepted last cycle off waitlist in May.Are u in UDM? Did u ever got a UDM interview invite?
Do you know the percentage of applicants gets accepted off the waitlist?I got accepted last cycle off waitlist in May.
No, I don't.Do you know the percentage of applicants gets accepted off the waitlist?
But you do know that a lots of ppl interviewed get accepted off the waitlist? No, I don't.
It's more like they also interview a lot of people, and they are known to have their acceptances declined for other schools. Youll see at your interview there might be 30-50+ people interviewing that day. They say that they usually don't reject invitees, so all those people who didnt get accepted from the interview get put on the waitlist. So its a pretty big waitlist. Just they go through it as people decline the UDM offer. But you do know that a lots of ppl interviewed get accepted off the waitlist?

Yeah, seems like it.Does a lot of ppl declined the UDM offers?
Has it happened during previous years?Yeah, seems like it.
Been a common trend I think.Has it happened during previous years?
Stats please? My gpa is 2.85 overall, 2.87 science, and 2.78 BCP graduate gpa is 3.08 post bacc with 6 credits total is 3.65......My DATs are 18 AA, 19 PAT, 20 TS, 21 BIO, 23 OC, 15 RC, 14 QR. I have 18,000 hrs of ECs, Excellent Personal Statement, and Excellent LORs. Do you think I have a good shot at UDM?Been a common trend I think.
From what I heard, UDM knows that MI residents (especially those that went to Michigan for undergrad) may easily treat them as just a backup to Michigan. They don't like that kind of attitude, but it happens - a lot of these people will automatically decline the UDM offer if they get into Michigan. However, it kind of makes sense because UDM does not make any distinction between IS vs OOS tuition, and it is expensive. This means that if a MI resident gets into Michigan, then Michigan is their best choice from a financial standpoint (assuming no scholarships). Even if they don't get into Michigan, but have other options, then (again, assuming no scholarships) there is no financial incentive for them to pick UDM over other more reputable schools like Penn.Does a lot of ppl declined the UDM offers?
Does that mean they pick UPenn over UDM since no financial incentive? From what I heard, UDM knows that MI residents (especially those that went to Michigan for undergrad) may easily treat them as just a backup to Michigan. Or some other school that they believe is a better fit for them. It is just for MI residents, if Michigan is not an option, then there isn't much difference when it comes to tuition. For those who care about the name of the dental school they attend, then they would choose a school like Harvard, Columbia, or Penn over UDM.Does that mean they pick UPenn over UDM since no financial incentive?
So I would like to know how the waitlist movement occurs at UDM? So are there going to be ppl dropping out of the waitling list? What about get accepted off the waitling list and drop their seats? It's more like they also interview a lot of people, and they are known to have their acceptances declined for other schools. your stats are pretty low, but at this point all you can do is focus on your interview. anything can happens. also from your writing style, i assume english is not your first language? maybe that can help you if you play your cards right. glStats please? Whoa whoa whoa, whats with the talk down man. That's absolutely false. I live near UDM and I know plenty of people attending there that have DAT scores of 18 with GPA's below 3.5. I don't even know where you would have pulled those numbers out from. Don't let cynicism like this discourage you guys.No you do not have good stats. You will not be accepted unless your DAT is average at least 20 with good GPA ( above 3.5) and no sections on DAT below 19. Some dental schools will not accept you if you have anything on DAT below 17.

Can u approximate the number of acceptances they give out/ out of how many they interviewed? From what I heard their waitlist moves pretty well. They send out tons of acceptances. I know a lot of OOS students turned down their acceptances(me included)
No clueCan u approximate the number of acceptances they give out/ out of how many they interviewed?

Unless any admissions member specificlly remembers that you applied early, no. When the board deliberates over the applicants, they're blond of some metrics. One of them is date of application. The only advantage applying early gives you in most schools is higher chance at securing an interview.Do they prefer applicants that apply early? I was there last week and Dr. Jeffer, the dean, compliment us on being way ahead of the curve and applying early. Is that giving us any advantage over late applicants?
Per month until January there is going to be 2 interview dates? Btw is each interview date going to be a total of 50 ppl?Unless any admissions member specificlly remembers that you applied early, no.
