Udm?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I will most likely in the next couple weeks, since I was accepted to a much cheaper school today.

Congrats on getting into UMich! That's so awesome, I wish you the best of luck. I've been on the waiting list since mid-January and haven't heard of any movement since then.

I was also on the waitlist since about February. I just heard this morning so don't give up yet.

I have an interview coming up at UDM. Any advices on answering a question like "why UDM?" Thank you so much!!!

man UDM/UoM are my dream schools right now. I don't want to pay extra for out of state schools, plus I'll still be around my friends and family if I get in one of these two. Is it a stupid move to only apply for these two schools, or should I also apply to some out of state schools?

The answer to your question is best made by asking another one. If you didn't get into UDM/UoM, would you rather wait a year and hope to get in then, or attend a more expensive school now? If it's the latter, which I imagine it is, then apply to more schools. UDM/UoM can still remain your top choices, but you leave yourself more potential options by applying to a wider range of schools. As many here will attest to, the entire process can be seen as a crapshoot at times. Some very qualified applicants don't even get interviews at average to below average schools, while some less than qualified applicants do. You never know what will happen. Applying to only two schools is very risky for those reasons.

You could say something along the lines of UDM having a rich history of clinical experience. UDM isn't know for it's research, but it's tough to beat in terms hands on experience....no shortage of patients there.
Good luck...

I think "Jeffs" answer is really good. There are several other schools in the midwest
you could apply to: UIC, Indiana, Case, Ohio St...
