Question how would you know if you got accepted???? I just had my interview and my name is included in the pre-accepted applicants. The guy from the admissions office told me to wait for their confirmation. hmm im confused... hehehe

Im assuming this is what u will get from UERM medical school. I received mine via email few months ago (january to be exact) a week after my interview. It is the official letter of acceptance! It will probably the same except for the amount of money you will be paying if you are locals ( LUCKY YOU)

Also, im arriving on April 30th. Its damn early (I know, I could just stay in Seattle and work for a month) but i really need to find a decent place to stay during my medical school journey.

See you guys in May or June and Good luck!

rules and regulations of the Bureau of Immigration, Commission on Higher Education

and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Based on the information provided in your application form, your papers were
processed under foreign applicants, and hence subject to its rules and conditions. You are
required to pay a foreign student's miscellaneous fee of $10,000.00 upon enrollment in
addition to payment ofthe regular tuition and other fees, a total ofP80,639.00 (subject to
15% increase).
You are also required to show proof of proficiency in speaking Filipino or of
enrollment in a Filipino language course during the first semester of your enrollment to
better prepare you for future interactions with patients.
There are limited slots available for foreign applicants and it is important that you
inform this office of your intention to enroll. Please inform us by phone or fax (Telefax:
(632) 713-3302) or email. If we do not hear from you on or before February 15, 2009,​

your slot will be given to the next qualified applicant.​

you'd better call the UERM registrar's office for you to be sure if you are accepted.

they said that the number of accepted reached up to 200+ though i'm not sure with the exact figure.

galing ako dun kanina at nagpareserve na ako ng slot. wala pa nga fixed amount at exact date ng enrollment. pero dapat mismo ung applicant ang mageenrol kasi para ata yun sa ID at uniform.

I'm Section B, friend of mine reminded me how to they do this.

Basically Section A are the first half of the alphabet.
Section B last half.

Till when are they gonna release the results? The guy in the admin office told me to call on the 7th or 8th. I was interviewed last mar 21st only. Hay.... I'm just waiting for their confirmation. 28 official accepted students... hmmmm Well if I'll be accepted ill be in section A also . ahehehe

As far as the class schedule goes on what day each class is, not quite sure yet. The heads of the department haven't been able to schedule any of the classes yet, and they won't have anything set until most students have enrolled. So more than likely schedules will be out by late May ... ?

But...
Last year, Anatomy was 3x's a week ... with cadaver lab afterwards.
Physio and Biochemistry 2x's week with lab once or twice a week, depending on experiment.

Then the minors, Prev Med, Human Life Cycle, and History of Medicine will be once a week, 2-3 hours.

Then there's other things, like ISP and ICS and those are usually sporadic.

I'm pretty sure there's only 2 sections. All of the med school years are divided into two sections. Section A is from lastnames that start with A-K / L and Section B is the rest of the alphabet. The only departments I've heard that are irregular are Nursing (which can have 3-4) and PT (only one section).

In total, all I know is that only 10% of the batch can be foreign students ... so I'm guessing about 300 students? Maybe more or less

By the way I got some more info for Foreign Students at UERM.

Current foreign students established a Foreign Student Club. The club gives advice to incoming freshman, there will be a guide given to us this June. The guide should answer many questions you may have. Including scheduling/studying advice when it comes to usmle's.

I'll keep everyone up to date.

Larke, take MadameMalaika's advice and call UERM. I had to be the one to take initiative and schedule it my self.

Well all I am 100% sure about so far for USMLE Step 1, is we take it second year on a June test date with everyone in the states. Also at the start of our vacation at the end of our second year, we have the chance to enroll in a Kaplan USMLE Step 1 review course before we take the test. Only catch is the day of the test in June, is about 2-3 days before classes start for third year.

But I will forward you guys all the info once I receive it.

Just arrived in Manila ( get ready for some heat !) and just in case you guys are still looking for places to stay, you might want to check out Anglo residences, I just reserved a slot there. A couple of UE students are also staying there. You can check out their site angloresidences.multiply.com. Its nearer,better and cheaper than robbinsdale and its right across keystone. Its at the back of UE. It's not yet finished, but they say it will be ready for move in by May.

They said that there are a lot of students who are already accepted and they only have a limited slot. And according to them you need to reserve your slot or else it will be given to other students who also got accepted. I think it is okay to ask them the possible workaround for your issue. 🙂 Enrollment is on May 4th - 24th.

femmefatale question was there any mention regarding the shoes? white ba o black I'm asking because when I was in PI some of the medical schools I visited students were wearing black shoes, for some reason I can't remember what the students were wearing when I was in UE. can you pls tell me hehe my mom's excited to buy shoes! haha
