Started by PharmLMD
wait how? i thought they dont send out invitations till u send them ur fall transcript
Completed
application packets are reviewed by an Admissions Committee during the Spring semester after
Fall transcripts and PCAT scores are received. The Committee will select prospective
candidates and they will be mailed a letter of invitation for an interview. Once interviews are
conducted, final decision letters will be mailed.
we are taking about University of Florida right?

Yes, we are talking about University of Florida. The letter was pretty long and explained that if you can't make the November 29 date then you will not be able to interview again until the spring interview session. I guess they only have one fall interview date, then they interview again in spring. Like I said I was surprised as well, I wasn't expecting it until spring. In the letter it also states that they will let me know soon after my interview on whether I have been admitted or not; very interesting.

I know at UF they interview in late November, early March, and early April. I think they only have a small number of interview dates. Congratulation on getting an interview 🙂

that is so weird, do u have all ur preharam req done? anyhow good luck and tell me how it goes. I am an out of state and by their statistics i don't think i am going to get in since they accept like 10 students from out of state

No I still need a few classes to complete pre req's. It is just a little hard trying to get my BS in Chemistry done at the same time as my pre req's. The thing that actually really makes me mad is EVERY school has different pre req's. They need to settle on some kind of standard!
I looked into the mail today and got a welcomed surprise, a letter from UF saying I have an interview on November 29th. Interestingly it was sent on the 7th and I got it today on the 8th!
Who else will be there that day?!
Hey, I got the same interview invite. I'll see you there on the 29th!!!

Great! Congrats.
Torkey: I had a 94 PCAT and I have like a 3.3 science GPA or something like that
To those who got interviews: when did you submit your application and supplementals?

I completed my application early September.

Thanks! Thank you also for posting your stats in your profile, it is a great help!
Did those who received interviews get a letter that requested information for proof of FL residency? If so, when did you mail it back to them?
Congratulations for those who got invited. I was wondering if they let you guys know what they calculated your UF prepharmacy GPA came out to be yet. Thanks for the information and good luck!
Question:
Have any of you other interviewees received any information regarding the day of the interview? For example, have any of you received a parking pass. UF is a huge campus. I would hate to have to walk across the campus in a suite.
I sent Penny Fultz an e-mail, but those efforts were to no avail 🙁

You will probably have to pay to park in the Reitz Union which won't be too bad of a walk to the HPNP building or you could pay to park in one of the Shands visitor parking lots. I'm not sure if they will do parking passes or not...
That is what I am beginning to think. The map (the pdf file given in the interview invitation) notes that it cost $3.00 to park in the garage. So, I guess, we are to pay for parking.
...capitalism sucks...

On the other hand, being offered an interview for a shot at your dream career is beautiful! UF is my dream pharmacy school! Congrats on being admitted! 😀

True. 🙂
HA.... yeah I'd gladly pay $30 to park if I knew I had an interview at UF. I wish I would have gotten my stuff in a lot sooner now. They say they don't start looking at apps until Jan! 😡
LOL I actually had a dream last night that I went to an interview there..... it was pretty weird!

hey you guys, I'm trying to rank my preference for which campus I want. I'm thinking that Gainesville would be ideal just because it's the main one. However, what should I put for my other choices??
I really do NOT want Orlando. That place is tourist central and I feel like it would be distracting. Does anyone know if St Petersburg or Jacksonville are nice? They really don't have a lot of pictures on the UF site

I live in Orlando and the campus is here is wayyyyy far from anything remotely touristy. It's actually in the middle of nowhere, so I wouldnt worry about distractions. Jacksonville is nice, but I think the school is downtown in a kinda bad area?

EXACTLY...apopka is NO WHERE NEAR the touristy area...the Jacksonville "campus" is actually located on one of the floors of Shands Hospital I believe...i'm crossing my fingers for the Orlando campus when the time comes...
FYI: UF COP sent out their decision letters on the Dec 5 (for those who interviewed on Nov 29, 2007). Check your mail!
