Well the University of Florida just called me with an acceptance. They called at 6 AM. I m not going to be passing out for while.

Congratulations guys!! I just found out I got accepted bright and early this morning also. Can't imagine what the guy on the phone was thinking since I am NOT a morning person at 6:30AM. I am pretty sure I am going here. I interviewed a few other schools and while they were nicer looking and had better locations they still slam you with 300000 of debt No THANKS!! So UF is looking pretty good right now being a state school. Maybe Ill see you guys in a few months at orientation. Good luck

I got a thin letter in the mail today from UF....it was a horrible feeling since UF is my #1 school. It turns out I'm on the alternate list, which I guess is not as bad as getting rejected.

By what date do you guys have to send back your decision about UF? Thanks and congrats to all.

Congrats maski, it's definitely better than a rejection. Do you mind sharing your stats? My mail still hasn't come yet...I'm praying that it's not a rejection. I was already depressed from not hearing from UF this morning. Does anyone know how they're waiting list works?

In my letter they say that when one of the primary candidates rejects their invitation then the candidate at the top of the alternate list will be invited in. The alternate list is ranked and they say they can't tell you your ranking because it changes with new grades, new DAT scores, etc. SO I guess I better finish off this semester with amazing grades so that I can move up in this crazy world of UF admissions. Hope that helps. And here I am ... stuck somewhere on the alternate list....

My stats are:

BS Chem Engineering (Dec.2004 FINALLY !!)
Science GPA: 3.21
Non Science: 3.18
DAT: AA19 PA19 TS18
Engineering Research Exp.+Work at Dental office 2 years

I graduated from UF in May 03 w/ a Finance degree. Im currently attending UWF completing my pre-reqs. I think Im moving back to Gville to finish biochem and genetics this spring. Anyone else going early? For those that are going to accept, please PM me with ur IM so we can meet up sometime.

I am in undergrad at the Univ. of South Florida in tampa. I'll be graduating in Spring 05'. I'm not 100% sure where I will attend yet, but UF is definately at the top of my list.

I am an undergrad at UF finishing my last year, so I'm pretty sure I will stay in gainesville. Just bought myself four more years of gator football and basketball. Don't forget that when you make your decision!!

Well, a waitlist spot sure does beat a rejection....I felt so much better after finding out I was waitlisted as opposed to being rejected 😎 .

Now as far as the waiting list goes, does anyone know how it works. In the letter it says we can't ask our rank and the rankings move up according to DAT scores and grades?!?!?! What, are we supposed to retake the DAT just to move up a spot? I'm lost, could someone please jump in?

Just wanted to let people know who interviewed at UF after November that they finished up accepting almost all of their applicants on 2/18/05. I received a call from UF that following Monday notifying me of acceptance. We have till March 11th (I believe) to decide if we accept or decline the invitation to go. So people on the waiting list should get notification of acceptance or rejection sometime after mid March.
