UF changed their requirements this year. I have two questions.
I am taking calculas this year and man is it kicking my A**, do i need to get a C or above or just pass full stop.
The second is regarding the anatomy requirment. I was wondering if UF will let another class replace one of the pre-requistes?
If anyone knows it would be great, if not thanks anyways.

I would take it to nearly the drop date [to learn as much as possible] and then drop if you suspect you're headed for a C or lower. It's a required course, the ONLY required math course, and it looks bad if it's not at least a B- or C+.

It's like taking the pcat and getting an 85 composite with a 41 math score. You need to take the pcat again & prove you can do math.

A bad Bio 1/2 grade will stay with you & be averaged in, regardless of whether you retake it or do a zoology/botany class after the fact.

Not sure if that's true of all the new A&P alternatives - I would call an admissions adviser.

See thats the thing, I have been accepted to other schools and I really don't care about getting an A. I just need to pass. I know UNC requires me to get a C, but if I were accepted to UF, they would require a C or is a D acceptable?

D grades are not accepted towards your prerequisites. You will need to pull at least a C.

As for anatomy, there are alternative classes, you need to look at their admission requirements. They are all very similar though, in that they include labs and you will have a remember a ton of functions/parts.

*od Damn it because Calculas is killing me right now.
Are you certain of this?

Yes, you need a C in Calculus for UF.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I just found out I failed my first test. Only the second time I have ever failed something in college. So I am pretty bumped. I just want to find a cal teacher that will pass me.

I'm sorry to hear about that. It really burns when you put so much effort into a class and then you don't get the grade you think you deserve. Are you a UF student? If so have you tried Tutoring Zone or Broward learning center?

If Zack is still doing the TutoringZone reviews, I'd highly recommend it. The learning center in Broward is also very good for homework, not the best for exam review though.

UF student or not, find yourself some out side help. Don't just fail exams and think you'll do better next time.

Where did you take calculas?

UF, with Kozinski no less.

Omg He was the worst. I had a B/B+ in the class (thanks to the discussion) and then he introduced the final and pull my grade down to a C+.... My Ta even emailed me and apologized.... He was good at teaching you the required material but even better at screwing students over.... ::sigh::

OMG i would kill for a C. I have been accepted to Chapel Hill and they require it. I just need to pass and I am having a hard time even doing this. THis is the second time I have EVER failed a test ever. I am going slightly crazy trying to figure out what to do. I am even thinking about taking in the summer but that is really a last option. Sigh 🙁

Hey SDN'er, what topic are you now covering in calculus? Perhaps, some of us can help you. Remain calm ad pretend test 2 is your first. Treat it like a chess position: react under pressure with bold moves. Go down fighting! You have come to far for this.

P.S. I'm saying this because I've been having a dilemma of my own. It even includes whether I should stay with pharmacy which is four years, or apply to be a Physician Assistant which is 2 years. Hell, for the years it takes to become a pharmacist, I might as well applied to medical school. I need some type of income dammit . Fortunately, the motivation in biochemistry is coming again and I must maintain the grade. Push Push...
