Yea, they have already started the interview process. They have only interviewed 10 people so far. U need about 3.3 Prereq GPA and 76 or higher on PCAT to be competitive.

Thank you!

I am curious as to how you know this or whom you spoke to.
I was referring to the "already interviewed" part.
I dont think UF will interview a lot of people. I think they still doing the old traditional : accept students have high GPA+PCAT first ( without interview), then they will interview some students with either high GPA or PCAT.
I think if people have 95% or above in PCAT, they will be accepted for UF.

In the letter I received from UF, it states that an interview is required for everyone.
In order to be considered, you need at least a 3.0 and a 65 PCAT. Anything below and your application is automatically thrown out.
Average stats for our incoming class earlier this year were a 3.6 and 85-86 PCAT. The closer you are to that (or exceeding) the more competitive your application. 🙂 I had a 3.6 prereq GPA and an 86... so I was right on the dot. 😉 The trend among all of my classmates is that everyone had a badass personal statement. So pay extra attention to that. 👍

I got the info from the admission counselor, Marcy Davis. I went to talk to her, cause I live in Gainesville. She did say that the average PCAT score from last year was around 86th percentile and she said ur admittance kind of depends on what location you pick as well (Gainesville, Orlando, St. Petersburg and Jacksonville). Also, they look at extracurricular activies, it does not have to be pharmacy (I do not have any pharmacy experience) but you have to have done something. Once your file is complete then Penny (another counselor) will calculate ur prereq GPA and then they decide whether to give u an interview. She did not really say that everyone gets an interview but I am not sure about that. Also work hard on ur personal statement cause it does matter. Give good reasons as to why u pick the particular location to go to school at and answer the questions honestly and to the best of ur ability. Good Luck.
I had my interview at UF today. Apparently my group was the very first batch at Gainesville. There were only 4 of us (one didn't show). I guess it went fine. I never know with these things. The questions were not what I expected, but weren't difficult either. The dean said about 350 are interviewed and 300 will be accepted. So now I play the waiting game to see if I'm accepted.
i know this is an old thread...lol
but does UF only calculate your PREREQ gpa or do they go by your OVERALL gpa??

Last year, and in past years, they looked at your pre-req GPA. I'm guessing they'll do the same this year. Check the website. I'm pretty sure the required courses list didn't change, and that's where they said they use your pre-req GPA only.
