I graduated from UF undergrad and have interviewed there last year (denied) and this year (hopeful for an acceptance, haha).

First of all, if you are a freshman there, i would HIGHLY recommend finding out about their 7 year B.S/DMD program. Go to your advisor and ask about it. It's quite intense with a pretty serious course load... but you're guaranteed admission to the dental school after 3 years as long as you get 16s (not very difficult) across the board on your DATs.

If the 7 year program is not feasible, then you just have to work your ass off to get good grades. No matter what the dental school says, Grades and DAT scores are of the utmost importance. GRADES GRADES GRADES!

And of course, you should get involved with ASDA, volunteering & doing research at Shands and ACORN (public dental clinic in rural area of gainesville). I would also recommend maybe getting in touch with Dr. Sposetti (admissions director at UF Dental) and expressing your interest in going to the dental school. She will definitely be able to point you in the right direction.
