I have an interview at UHS this April.I'm excited but nervous! Would someone kindly give me some insight as to what questions to expect from this university?

Thanks.

Hey,
First of all, although it's been said a thousand times, don't be too nervous. I didn't feel like I performed that well, but I was accepted within days. The interview at UHS is very low pressure. They just want to make sure that you are an effective communicator. You wouldn't have been invited for an interview if your academic credentials weren't good enough. If there are any slight imperfections in your file they might ask you about those. Of course as with any D.O. school be prepared to answer "why DO?" Think of the interview as an opportunity to demonstrate the real YOU. The side that can't be seen on paper. Check out interviewfeedback.com if haven't already done so. Above all else be yourself and enjoy the day. You'll do fine. Good luck and we all hope to see you in the Class of 2006!

Try checking out this link. It's a thread on the pre-osteopathic page. Another applicant asked about the UHS interview and quite a number of us tried to help out. See if that assists you in any way.

Of course, everyone will have a unique experience, but here's what I thought helped me on my interview. My brother-in-law coached me through several mock interviews and he really ate into some of the weaker points on my record. He went over them again and again until I developed a positive non-defensive response.

Also, some current UHS students helped. As they walked me to my interview (they have you wait in the lounge in one building, then they walk you over to another when its your turn), they coached me on the background and interests of my interviewers. I then geared some of my responses towards those interests. I think that had a large part to do with why UHS accepted me.

Best of luck to you and I hope you are amongst my classmates in August!

Just relax! I interviewed at UHS in January and the great thing about interviewing there is that they accept most of the students that they interview. You'll get a tour, etc. of the school, an OMT presentation, and there are plenty of opportunities to ask UHS students questions. The atmostphere really put me at ease. At the interview, they asked me about my study habits, motivation, etc. I would only suggest to know of a couple current topics in medicine as well as why you went the D.O. route. Just have fun chatting with those you interview with; it will make it much less stressful. Good luck!

Thank you all for your help!! I do hope all goes well. Thanks again.
