i hope everyones having a fun time getting/watching people get acceptances. i have a quick question: I have enough money now to apply to three more schools and I'm am choosing two non-rolling reaches (yale and cornell) and an additional (hopefully) "well in-reach" school. I'm trying ot choose between vcu and uic . i love virginia, i love chicago ( a bit more). does anyone know if chicago takes a good deal of oos though? if anyone could provide some moreinfo/advice it would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

with uic, you might not even get the chicago campus. you could be in urbana, peoria or rockford.

Last year UIC received 5400ish OOS applicants and interviewed about 290ish of them... Just over 5% interviewed... Seems like VCU would be a better bet...

UIC accepts 22% from out of state, but their OOS tuition is very high. Additionally, if you apply now, at best you'd interview in December, and maybe be notified a month later, at which time you'd get a campus preference card to return. All the Chicago spots fill up by January. If you like Chicago, I'd suggest considering Rush as an alternate, if you haven't listed it already.
