Do any of you SNDers know anything about this program? I was told to come for an interview for the post bac. program (not d school). The woman did tell me that if I pass all my classes, I will be guaranteed a spot in the 2011 class. Any further info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a friend who is in UIC's post bac program. Over the summer they pay for you to take KAPLAN's DAT course, so that you can improve your score. In addition to that, for a year you take classes, some of which you probably already took during undergraduate. These classes include, biochemistry, physiology, histology, human anatomy, genetics, and microbiology. You usually have 3 classes a semester. UIC pays for everything, and they provide with a $1000.00 stipend/month. I personally do not agree with post graduate programs, they are a waste of time, especially when you get just get a MS. With a post bac, you only get a certificate and no one really acknowledges those. One good thing about UIC post bac is that admissions is 100% guranteed if you complete all of the courses with a B or better. The score you get on the DAT does not matter. I hope this matter. Good luck with the interview! 🙂

Thanks for the info - anyone know of the website with details? I tried looking for it, but UIC's site is terrible.

Never heard of this post bac program at UIC....Must be something that they have recently started. It also surprises me that UIC would be willing to pay someone who didn't get into their dental school $1000/month to do their post bac program...doesn't sound like something UIC would do

I agree. As a UIUC undergrad, I know the state universities are so strapped for cash right now - very surprising to say the least.
