UIC:
Pros:
-great location
-close to family/friends - would have a support system
-true pass fail
-seems like students are very “woke” lol
-great match lists, especially in chicago
Cons:
-huge school, scares me a little lol
-finding opportunities to differentiate may be challenging
-no early clincial exposure unless you find it on your own
-less support from school than other options
Cooper:
Pros:
-students & faculty have been so kind, get the vibe everyone really cares about each other
-paired with student mentors and faculty advisors to mentor you
-start clinical experiences week 5 with ambulatory clerkships
-lots of service opportunities
-(boyfriend is on waitlist but idk?)
-small class size, people know you
-abundance of opportunities to do research(built into curriculum), shadow etc
-feels comfortable
Cons:
-idk anyone in Philly lol
-far from friends/support system
-with being newer school unsure how match will go with P/F step 1?
Loyola:
Pros:
-close to family/friends
-a lot of support, free tutors, pair you with 2 md advisors and a student mentor
-lots of service experiences
-people seem very kind and caring
-I know a lot of people here already so may be easier to get opportunities
-feels like home
Cons:
-so expensive lol
-in maywood, suburb of chicago
-jesuit/church kinda scares me a little lol
-have I already had enough experience here? (Done research, service and shadowing here already)
