Not to be harsh, but your stats aren't that hot. I would work on raising the GPA to show you can handle the course load that optometry will bring.
hey guys i thought i was ask a question here since i saw a current accepted applicant. I have a 2.8gpa OAT of 290/290 and 8+yrs experience plus im a certified optometric assistant thru the AOA i have experience in commercial optometry, private practice and ophthalmology practice.....i know my stats are pretty low but do i have a shot?
Hi all:
So I have a 3.0 overall and a 2.90
With a 290/290
I am on the cusp and RSO is being pretty strict about the 290... I thought this school accepted pretty much everyone?
How did they contact you? Are they concerned that your AA was 290 or TS 290? My application was mailed to them about a week and a half ago and I'm waiting to hear back.. I'm curious because my AA was a 300 and TS 290 and I've been kind of worried about that. My GPA is a 3.35 with a 3.0 science.

During the interview, an applicant had asked when do we find out when we are accepted. And they said they would go over it that day and I found out 3 days later. But there were a couple of ways they would inform you. Either you are accepted, or rejected, wait listed, and then one where you are approved pending you still have a requisite to complete that they thought was missing, or your OAT score wasn't high enough.
Hope this helps

I am worried about the same thing, I am so afraid to hit the submit button on my application! The last time I applied, they told me to raise my OAT score and GPA, my GPA is now exactly a 3.0(overall), up from a 2.86. I am retaking my OAT on March 11th because my first one was so low(270). I want to submit, I have great LORs and I am almost finished with my masters now (with a perfect 4.0) I am just terrified of being rejected. Has anyone on here been accepted with lower stats? Especially if you have applied more than once?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Does anyone know if RSO has received full accreditation yet?
Also what are their current board passage rates? Most schools have them online but I can't seem to find RSO's.

RSO is supposed to receive full accreditation within the next month or so, but it will be back-dated to reflect March 2013 (the date of their last visit at RSO).
