Hi,

I am torn between these two schools for similar reasons. They are both very new and are only now graduating their inaugural classes. Anyone with insights or would be extremely helpful. I am WL at 2 of my top schools and waiting to hear back. But the deposit for JB is 2 weeks away to severe my seat. My seat at UIW is already secured but these deposits are expensive so I wanna make the right decision and not throw money in the air.

UIW PROS:
-About 7K a year cheaper @ ~55K a year
-Offered a $40,000 scholarship over the 4 years
-Opportunity for a Texas residency
-Love the mission and vision
-Have some family support nearby
-San Antonio is a beautiful city
-Rotations all around Texas

UIW CONS:
-83% pass rate on comlex 1 (~10% under national average)
-Unsure what match rate was but some are estimating 93%
-South Texas is hot all the time and I am not a fan of Texas heat
-Not sure I wanna live in Texas for 4 years

NYITJB PROS:
-Offered a scholarship for 10% off my tuition each year
-Love the commitment to service in the delta region
-Appreciate emphasis on rural medicine
-Felt the students and faculty really cared for each other and there was a strong community feel
-Cost of living in Jonesboro would be significantly cheaper than San Antonio.
-Match rate and board scores seem to be closer to/at the nation average

NYITJB CONS:
-Tuition is ~62K a year and would be more expensive even with the scholarship to go here. -Futher from family
-Board scores and pass rates for both campuses are combined so there isn’t a lot of transparency on how well JB students are doing compared to OW students.
-Rotations might not be as well established.

Thanks for your help and consideration

Cheapest tuition wins.

You also can't beat TX barbecue, FYI
Regardless of price, which school would provide a better education or ultimately be the better choice? Being they are both fairly new. Living in AR would be much cheaper than living in San Antonio and would bring the price difference to under 2,000 a year which I can live with.

Only you can answer this. Our knowledge bases don't go down to that level of granularity.

hey're both brand new schools that have graduated one class. There are no real metrics to measure them by.
