i am applying to med school in the UK as i am a UK citizen, but I would like to practice in canada. is there a surplus of docs in canada and is it practically impossible for foreign grads to end up practicing and living in canada? thanks

Hey Dr.One, To answer your questions; No there is not a doctor surplus in Canada. However, this is not to say that there is an abundance of positions. To practice in Canada not having been educated either at a Canadian or American institution is difficult. Also, attaining a competitive residency will border the impossible (yes, it does happen) and chances are you will end up in FP, IM, EM etc.. If your stats are competitive I'd seriously consider applying to some Canadian schools that accept international students.
