Do any of the UK medical schools consider ur MCAT score instead of the UKCAT. In other words, does anyone know of medical schools in the UK, WITH 4-yr MD programs, that do not require you to take the UKCAT ? If so, please post below. Thanks a bunch!

P.S. emailed oxford they said nope. they require the UKCAT for admission.

Do a search, the subject has been discussed extensively before.

But as an overview the MCAT and GAMSAT are only required for 4-year Graduate Entry Programs (Medicine, in the UK and EU, has traditionally been an undergraduate degree). Undergraduate programs are 5-years long.

4-year graduate programs tend to be open only to UK and EU nationals, with some programs open only to UK nationals.

In the UK an MD is purely a research qualification, similar to the PhD, but requiring less time to obtain. UK medical schools award the MBChB/MBBCh/MBBS and variations thereof (they all stand for 'Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery' and are equivalent to the US MD).

As a rule, you should undertake your primary medical qualification in the country in which you intend to practise after your medical education. If you wish to practise in the UK, you might find you are disappointed with the lack of employment opportunities due to your 'international status' despite having gained your degree from a UK institution.

UKCAT is much easier, but it is a very new test. I would just take it.......
