NO. Commonwealth my ars.. it means nothing. BTW, British health system is not like the Canadian one. Many assume it is.. but its not. Canadian medical system is most similar to US system.

there are regulations on FMG or IMG. YOu can google them.

If you are a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and have worked in the UK with a strong CV and good references then you should be able to become licenced. You may have to work in an underserviced community to start. I've seen others do it, so i know it is possible.

Yes, it's possible but there is no reciprocity and you still have to take their diplomate exams (written and oral).

That is actually wrong - have you actually taken a look at the Canadian components of the various training programs? Some of them are very different to the US training program. In the case of most specialties they are actually 1-2 years longer (in Canada), and much more similar to the Australia/UK system.

This is particularly true for Surgery and Psychiatry. Anesthesiology is a bit different, as is Internal med, but most specialties will not have any trouble being assessed and able to sit for the Royal College exams.

I'd start by comparing your program to the equivalent CDN program at the Royal college site. If it's similar start the assessment process.
