First off, congrats to all those who matched yesterday!

I was wondering if anybody knows of an online resource that I can use to begin to learn ultrasound. Preferably this would be something that assumes pretty much no knowledge of u/s. Thanks!

If you have an iPad, "introduction to emergency ultrasound" is the best intro book for the money. Only problem is it is only available on iBooks on the iPad. About 30 bucks. The ultrasound podcast is great as well but usually not beginner level and goes through more advanced topics.

Www.sonoguide.com is good.

Www.emsono.com is awesome, but at 360/year is pricey. You can probably wait to get residency funds to pay for it, or your residency may already subscribe to it.

There is a book called emergency and critical care ultrasound by Vicki Noble that is a great start to read about the basics of EUS techniques. Again, learning US from a book is hard.

You could also contact your future residency and see if they have any intro material (if you just matched or are in residency).
