The following schools here seem to get a disproportionate share of bad press on SDN. Fair or not, it's made for interesting reading.

Anyway I thought I'd combine them all into a poll and let the 2008 applicants have a look, enjoy! (You can choose multiple schools.)

PS- If you want more on each school, remember to "Search Titles Only" and highlight "Pre-Dental" and "Dental" for forums.

PPS- Also feel free to discuss (or at least give this poll the occasional bump).

If you graduated from a dental school in New York and want to practice in NY, then, you need to do a mim. one year residency[includes GPR/AEGD, and any other specialty program].

You are just another Harvard basher, congrats you have made no valid argument.

If you want to know about dental schools, why not do your own research to see if the school offers what you want.

Better yet, consult, ***Official Rules of the Pre-Dental Forums***

I'm surprised the Mods haven't closed this poll.

He's actually not quite doing what you think he's doing. I think the little quotes are pretty representative of what the average "basher" says when they bash the school in question. Note that he's not actually advocating anything, just trying to see what SDN thinks on the whole.

Please do not apply to NYU...apart from the enormous expense, they put you through so much abuse that you may even be turned off by the profession. I have two cousins you attend that are going through absolute hell here. We have also seen how many threads are dedicated to their reputation of weeding students out, there is truth to that.

With the new Dean, do you think NYU will be worth a debt of $3-400k USD?

I'm still not convinced that the pros outweight the cons of applying to NYU. Regardless of who the dean is, the culture of not caring about their students still applies.

Aside from the cheating scandal (which was the students, not the faculty), how reputable is IU? I was accepted there last year, although I chose not to attend because I was accepted into my first choice. Just realized that I knew very little about the school...

Yes, NYU is putting a lot of resources and $ into bringing the reputation of their dental school to the same level as that of all their other schools. I think it will probably pay off in the next few years (or more).

Hmm. So if you had to choose between NYU and Tufts, which would you choose then? And why?

Question is open to others as well.

So, I think a lot of people will most likely say Tufts. But honestly, between these 2 schools, I would personally choose based on if I wanted to spend 4 years in Boston or 4 years in NYC.

why not add penn to the list?
