Has anyone checked their UCSF status page recently. I interviewed there at the beginning of the month and after your interview they change your status back to 'under review' I just checked right now and my status has been changed to 'offer made'. I can't help but think this is a mistake but if its not. 😀 I better call them in the morning.......

:O OMG. I had an interview there 10/12 and it went really well. My Status* is at 'Offer Made' also 😀

Ooh that makes me excited.

I'd advise not making the call and putting them on the spot. Perhaps they are trying to give you some good news in a very subtle way, but if you call them you will be forcing them to directly divulge something they can't tell you. I will put a good wager on their being very ho-hum about this on the phone, if at all. And given the fiasco they had with the interview offers on the AADSAS, I'd place no weight on this information. Just give it another month, when everything will be out in the clear. You have waited this far, so just relax now.

Yeah well I'm not getting happy just yet. Actually more scared. Wasn't there something about how last year they told people 'offer made' or something on AADSAS and it was actually meant to be a rejection. But do you really think its a bad idea to call? I mean If it is true then its not like they are gonna say: 'Hey this guy is bothering us on the phone. Forget about the acceptance.' I'd sure like to get it clarified sooner than later.

yea i wouldnt get too excited yet...im sure u will get in
but...i just checked my usc status page and it says "alternate" and i just called htem and they said their status pages are actually down and all files are just under review and i should disregard that

I think that's a good sign. It says on the description that if it's "Offer Made" it means provisionally admitted. But the official letter saying that "you are offically admitted" is to be announced by/around Dec 1.

Technically, "provisionally admitted" is the same thing as "officially admitted" except they need you to complete any final year of school and make sure you have all of the pre-reqs (which need to be done by June before attending). They still have the ability to withdrawing the acceptance until all of these things are completed.
(basically its not related to the Dec. 1st date issue)

Does your status say Offer made and last updated 10-10-07? Just curious

did anyone call to find out? mine is still under review.. :*( nevertheless, good luck to everyone!!🙂

Yeah, this is all really strange, because I interviewed there a week ago, and my status went from interview to "under review"

This is all very odd and makes me wonder. I interviewed about a month ago. My status changed from interview back to under review after the interview. It currently says Offer Made. AADSAS says you can't inform until Dec 1st (as we all know), but does that just mean the traditional letter? Is the school's personal website some sort of loophole? Or is this another "Invited for Interview"... oh just kidding. Either way... I'm not going to make the bold move and call. What's another month at this point?

Its just a gentleman's agreement not law. AADSAS probably doesn't allow any school to post up acceptances early. I guess they won't make it official till dec 1st and I won't believe it till its official. Glad too see you were changed to offer made too. I wonder if many other in our interview group got it as well. Waiting another month is kinda a big deal to me cuz there are certain interviews I wouldn't go to if I knew I was already accepted to UCSF.

Give us a call. Let the admission know why you're calling. Your reason is very reasonable. Plus, admission people are nice too. I don't think a phone call will change your status if it's already decided. Good luck!

I was just wondering if anybody's webtool has changed to offer made from Oct.22nd interview!??/

I was there on the 22nd, and mine went to "under review" so that doesn't look like a good thing for me. But congrats to you if it means that you got accepted.

I interviewed on Oct 22nd and this morning it said Under Review, and now it says Offer made.... hmmm wtvr that means

Congrats on finding your first loophole in dentistry!! Many more to come 😀 😀 😀

early preview of your status. one accepted, one rejected. Grats to the accepted.

have any of u called to actually check?

don't bother calling to check. Per the UCSF webtools email..

"Our office will be unable to respond to individual status inquiries."

Enjoy your Dec 1st preview to those accepted!

Well just don't all get your hopes up. Let's leave it at that.

ya im not gonna take this as anything real

i got the official rejection letter in the mail. i'm still amazed about being rejected only a week after my interview. congratulations to those who have "offer made." im sure the official word will come around dec 1. next stop for me is their post bac program. i'm not giving up!

No you shouldn't give up. Not being accepted at UCSF is not that big of a deal, really, since you have no idea what's really waiting behind that curtain even if you are sure it is the place you want to be. I was just there yesterday. It is a good place, although I found it a little repetitive on how they stress over and over again on research and the DDS/PhD route. Their student interview was also a little bit disconcerting, with a student simutaneously interviewing two people. I found this a bit awkward because there were somethings I would have been comfortable discussing with the interviewer but not so with another (basically a stranger) listening in. They really should make it a 1-on-1 like everywhere else I have been to.

i hope you get in else where, but I was hoping u could tell me if you know what you think in ur opinion you did wrong at the interviews since I still have mine coming up?

Thanks so much and good luck
keep faith

I interviewed 10/22 and my status was changed to 'offer made' on 10/26. I can't help but get excited! Now I'm going to be even more upset than I would've been if I don't get the acceptance letter in December. I really wish they would've just kept everyone at 'under review' rather than causing all of this confusion

Has anyone checked heir status again lately? Mine went from under review, to offer made, and then back to under review. Bummer.

Yeah i talked to someone today at UCSF, and it appears as though there was another computer glitch.

Computers don't glitch like that.

Sounds more like: Someone purposely went into the computers and manually updated the students' status based on admission committee's decisions. Later, they realized, "Oh crap, students are finding out they're accepted. They're not supposed to know til later! We have to change the status back now!" Then, some guy goes back and changes the "Offer made" back to "Under Review" to abide by the Dec 1st rule.

Again, computers don't glitch like that. Humans do make oversights and blame computers thou. I hope you guys checked your status before they reverted it back to Under Review thou. Good preview of your fate.

Yeah I hope you're right. I think there must be a reason why it happened to some people and not others. Plus they already sent out rejections too so it shows some decisions have been made. Still I won't crack open that bottle of champagne just yet.

oh man..i'm getting freaked out!!:scared: Has anyone's just said 'under review' since their interview and is still 'under review' right now?

ucsf seems to like to play with our hearts..this time they cant blame aadsas

my status never changed from "under review", but i did just recently interview there

Mine has said under review the whole time. Never even changed to "invited for interview" even though I intervied on Oct 12th.

I'm in the same boat as some of ya... just went from "offer made" to "under review" today... Guess we'll all wait and see.

After your interview, the admission committee will meet and review your whole package. If they don't think you are a good match for the school, they will send out the rejection letter. If you don't get a rejection letter after they review your file again, you are either put on a list or provisionally accepted. The school gives you points for each part of your application. You'll get separate points from the faculty interview and student interview. They then put you on the list and sort out by total points. They then pick out the obviously outstanding applicants (either based on numbers or unique background), reject those they don't think will fit the school. This sub-process is updated everytime a new group comes in for interview until Dec 1st when everyone will get a response.
The student interview is meant to see how you work/communicate with others. Anything too personal should have been recorded somewhere else (PS or faculty interview). Don't stress too much about the student interview. We're here to answer questions and help you determine if this is the right school for you. Good luck!

Is anyone like me and is using that fancy key chain they gave us at the interview?

You are a student involved w/ admissions I take it.

hahaha yes, i have that chain from a ucsf grad...i luuuuuuuuuuuvest it

haha of course I am! But I had a hard time figuring out how to open it at first 😕 I thought it rotated or something

It's not a bottle opener. Trust me I've tried.haha

i interviewed on october 26 and my status says reject now.

Serious? I wonder if any one else who got a reject letter had their status changed on webtools too......

UCSF needs to figure this out- it has already pushed them down a few places on my list. Anyone else see this as a foreshadow of disorganization and disregard for the student?

I've had and heard worse screw-ups already from UNLV admissions

If I'm investing $100,000+ and four years- the school had better be more organized than a JC!
