Does anyone have any information on the typical acceptence for umass md/phd? How is this school ranked? average range of mcat, gpa?

I am here at UMass as a grad student (and current med applicant, interviewed Oct 21) and know many MD-PhD students. MCAT's range from 29 to high thirties. This year it opened up to out-of staters, however, there will be one or two slots only. For in staters, the program will accept as many that are qualified, there is no real limit. There have been some issues with students staying in the program. After the second year, you join a lab, which could range from 3 to 7 years. Sitting at the bench, you watch as your class buddies graduate and move on. Make sure you enjoy research. Also, there are typical MD-PhD labs that seem to give away a PhD in 3 years. Those labs a popular among the dual degree students, but are being phased out. Hope that helps.
