Hey guys. Basically, I attended UMD-College Park in the kinesiology honors program as an undergrad. After receiving my B.S. in December 2009, I took a year off to work as a personal trainer and to write screenplays before returning in Spring 2011 to take science prereqs. Just finished them in spring 2013 and am applying to schools now.

sGPA- 3.55
cGPA- 3.57

MCAT- 29 (10, 9, 10)

My strengths-

- Post bacc student who crammed all sciences in last 2 years (literally just took sciences as post bacc while working). Only received less than 3.5 for one semester out of four.
- Upward trend. Last semester recieved (Biochemistry, mammalian physiology, etc) 3.75 GPA. Second to last semester received a 3.81.
- GPA is only this low because recieved a D in math freshman year at a community college.
- Strong extracurriculars: Scribed, Kinesiology honors program with research thesis (1 year of laboratory work in postural research), worked as an ACSM certified personal trainer for 3 years, 100 plus hours of volunteering in nursing home and hospital combined, 70 plus hours of shadowing.
- Interesting applicant (I write screenplays, was accepted into UCLA screenwriting certificate program but chose to do post bac at UMD)

My weaknesses-

- Older applicant (27 years old)
- Pedestrian overall GPA and MCAT

I basically know I am a strong applicant for DO. My hope/goal is to get at least one interview at an MD school. I applied to roughly 30. Do you guys feel this is a stretch? I applied pretty late in the game.
