UMDNJ Gateway Decision Today

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
UMDNJ Gateway Decision should be received today. Anyone got it ? I am very concerned. I need good luck.

Thanks

that program is biased towards in state students and you dont need it if you want to go to d-school. I was rejected from that program twice, meanwhile I killed the DAT and have 7 interviews lined up. I think its useful if you plan to go to UMDNJ for d-school, but if you are out of state student its almost impossible to get into the Gateway program.

As it should be. It is funded partly by NJ resident tax dollars, so it would make sense that it benefit their own resident.

Of course, you don't need to get into Gateway to get into DS (what about the rest of the applicant pool, Gateway only accepts like 15 students?)
However, I have been told that if you get into Gateway, and get a professor there to write you a positive LOR, you're in. 👍

🙁 sucks i didnt get in then.

Good luck! I did Gateway last summer and had an incredible time. We had students from NJ, NY, CT, PA, CA, TX, and, oddly, more than one from Minnesota! If you don't hear from them today, don't freak out. What happened last year was rejections/waitlist a day after their announced date and then acceptances a day after that.

I didn't even think to ask for a letter from a Gateway prof. You only see most of them for a few hours total - doesn't seem like enough time for them to get to know you really well.
