Hello Everyone,
I tried to find some information about this on their website and by searching the forums, but I was unable to find anything.........Is it true that UMDNJ has a strong preference for in-state students? I have found mixed opinions. I know that UMDNJ has a preference for state residents and according to their stats the current class consists of almost all NJ residents, however I have also been told that UMDNJ does accept a lot of out of state residents, however since it is so easy to switch residency students do that for the in-state tuition which is why the current student body is almost all NJ residents. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks!

In state residency is really really really reallllllllllllllllly easy to get in jersey. That is why it seems like there are so many in-state students. They get accepted as oos, but then go there get their apartment, driver's licence, etc...and voila! Jersey state residents...and the tuition that comes with it.

I am pretty sure that at least half the class is OOS at the time of acceptance but change to in-state by the time school starts. However they get about 2000+ apps from OOS applicants and will accept only about 50 while they get only about 300 from in-state and will accept approximately 50. So yes, they still have a significant in-state bias like any state school.
