UMDNJ under review anyone?

Is anybody out there still "under review" at UMDNJ? That's what it says on AADSAS for me. I haven't heard anything since a confirmation email that they got my application. (I haven't gotten an interview.) Has anybody tried emailing Dr. Linfante to see what's up with their app? I know people have said that the admissions office won't tell them anything, but I wasn't sure if emailing him would be a good or bad thing to do.

I emailed Dr. Linfante. Someone else replied and said to call for more info. So I did and go the entire story.

UMDNJ has the worst admissions process/staff. You could have a bunch of blind, mute, deaf, handicapped orangutans working at the admissions office and they'll do an exponentially better job than the fools they have working there right now.. haha sorry just had to let that out.. i live in NY and this is the second year I've applied there and I haven't even gotten an interview letter from them either times. Hell I was offered an interview at Columbia twice, anyways its frustrating when you spend all this money applying TWICE and they dont have the courtesy to even notify you your status.

That's really odd because I've had a pretty pleasant experience with them. In fact they are the ONLY school I've applied to that has bothered to update their status on AADSAS. The rest of them are just blank. They've always answered their phone when I've called too. I dunno... 🙁

yea it definitely is frustrating.. my stats are very similar to yours.. 3.4gps 21 dat.. and not even an interview invite.. i applied in june also so i dont know what else could be the issue.. anyways im glad i got into my state school so i dont care.. but I'd still like my money back 😀

Yeah, who knows who these things work. With a GPA of 3.4 and a AA of 17 on my DAT's, I thought I had a snowball's chance in hell and got an acceptance from them...

i haven't heard anything from them either. under my status it says received/ waiting additional information; i called them about it and they told me to disregard it. another weird thing is, when i called around oct or nov, to check status, the lady asked me if i completed all my prereqs. i completed them a long time ago and graduated last may. there seemed to be some confusion with my app, but she wouldn't explain what. She told me to write an email to Dr Linfante explaining why umdnj is my top choice. I never got a response back.
I'm really disappointed because that was my first choice. I went on a tour with my pre-dental society and i fell in absolute love with the school. At this point chances are nonexistent, but i did get into another great school.

I'm still waiting to hear anything from Pitt and UMDNJ. No interviews or rejection notices from either. I emailed Pitt but got nothing back yet; I'm going to email UMDNJ.

I got straight A's last semester (3 liberal learnings and Genetics) so once they received my academic update I was hoping to get an interview. My school has a habit of taking forever to send out transcripts. I requested three times for them to send it after grades were posted on Dec 23. AADSAS finally received my transcript on 1/10 ... and again on 1/15... (so somehow 2 of the 3 requests got sent out - wonder when that 3rd request will show up, LOL) ... and then AADSAS finally sent out my updated AU to the schools on this past Monday - but they should have received them by today. I know the schools 'can' see your updated info on AADSAS but I wonder if they really do go looking for it. I'm hoping the new grades will make them take a second look at my file.

My mom saw this thing on Oprah about how if you think something will happen and really believe it, it will. So she got a piece of paper and wrote "(My name) WILL get into DENTAL SCHOOL this year!" and taped it to the mirror in our living room so you have to look at it to look at yourself in the morning. Hahahaha.

have you been calling? i've never had a problem with them not picking up.
