UMDNJ Waitlist

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You don't have to be so blunt. This is my top choice school. Just from being on SDN I know a lot of people have been waitlisted, so I was hoping that it was not filled. I was also wondering where this information came from. And it is 108.

I am really really sorry if what i said sounds bad. I do not mean to hurt any body's feeling. I wish you the best of luck.

people "claim" to have their sources. but just because you read it on SDN does not mean it's 100% true. the only people who really know are those who work in the admissions office. don't fret 🙂

when I interviewed Third weeek in march, my interviewer told me straight up that the class was full, and that I would not be rejected, but placed on the waiting list. I thought it was kind of strange that he would be telling me that in an interview, but I definetly appreciated the honesty. I do have to agree with kuldace, that at this point, for the most part, people are interviewing for waitlist positions. I would loved to be wrong, so post if you think this information is inaccurate.

I interview tomorrow...maybe they will mention something! I will definetly pass it on. wish me luck

Yep. That's where I got my information as well, during my interview day the guy who greeted the interviewers told us. It's bad news for waitlisters, and semi-bad news for those still interviewing.

According to Princeton Review they were offering acceptances to nearly 300 to get just over 100 enrolled. There would seem to be some underlying dynamic to that that I don't really understand. Most acceptances and most enrollments are in-state applicants.
The reception for the 2011 admitted students is tomorrow.

good luck guys/girls... from my understanding, they are having a meet & greet next week for all the new matriculates.

hey froggie, How was your interview? were you given any updated regarding the status of the class size/admitted students?

hopefully the waitlist will start moving soon

no we are not all from NJ, it just looks that way:idea:

my interview was OK, they said the class was pretty much full and we were interviewing for waitlist spots. They did not say when the waitlist would open

Anyone hear anything yet?

I'm guessing things are pretty quiet so far with the school. Anyone hear anything about the wait list?

I called in for my rank on the waitlist, Elaine had the list. If you want specifics, you should probably ask for Paula. I really should have asked how many people were on the waitlist.

so instead of getting your composite, she told you what number you were on the list?

yea, I've seen the list. It is llllooooooooongggggggg. I have had a composite over 86 since February, yet I am #30 on the waitlist. Apparently there are tons of people with composite scores over the acceptance mark on the waitlist.

My spot will eventually go to one of you. Hope it goes to Kuba

I called admissions about the waitlist but they didn't give me a number

Thanks! I have decided to attend Nova, however. It was a close call as it was, but this new news tipped the scale in Nova's favor. Good luck next year arsenewenger.

hey everyone

I found out that I was on the wait list after febs. adcom meeting so my fingers are crossed, and good luck to everyone else, hopefully people start withdrawing and the list will move!

I dont know if anyone knows this about UMDNJ, but I was thinking of applying to the grad program at the school just in case I dont get accepted this year. The program is supposed to act as a great stepping stone in improving your app. to the school. However, I am not sure if I am supposed to apply for the thesis track, or non-thesis track. They told me on the phone it didnt matter, but on the website, it seems that the thesis track is the way to go for helping someone get into med school. Anyone have any ideas?

I will be attending the grad program this fall..I applied to the thesis track because, as you noticed yourself, it offers the best help for those wanting to get into medical school. I don't know the exact numbers of those being accepted to umdnj-som from the biomed program, but I imagine it is fairly significant seeing how the biomed program is very small (~17-20 ppl). Let me know if you are applying and I can tell you a little more about the program and whatnot.

p.s. When did Inviz get banned??!!!😱 😱 😕

Hey, since I last posted that I was actually accepted as well into the GSBS graduate program. I selected non-thesis track only because they told me it would not affect any decision the adcommit. would have when looking at me. Im pretty excited to start the program. I will be going to see the July 30th orientation, hope to see you there!
-Mike

ps.. fingers still crossed to make it off the wait list....

There's an orientation??!!😱 😱

I haven't heard of this? Perhaps this is because I only sent in my letter of agreement last week. I was delaying it to see if I would hear back from PCOM first but alas, my app has only recently been deemed complete and ready for review.

Do you know where you are going to live? I have no clue...I am planning to head out there mid to late July (if I can't find anything cheaper in June) to find a place...any suggestions?

I keep thinking that he was banned "quite some time ago."
But then again, I spend too much time on SDN, and am on far too frequently.
So even if this was only 3-4 days ago, it would seem like an eternity.

I know he was on 'probationary status' for a while and then he must have f**d up and just got banned. Does anyone know if it was an IP ban or a username ban because, theoretically, he could just open up another account (he could actually open up another accounet w/ a different email on a school comp.) if he wanted.

p.s. I wonder what the straw that broke the camel's back was, I mean, he was always pushing his luck, that's how I saw it anyway.

Hi Everybody,

I realize this is a bit off topic but: does anyone know how much of the class is OOS? I live in NY and would like to stay in the region, if possible. I feel like I read something somewhere and it wasn't a very high percentage. How many of you are NJ residents?

Thanks and good luck on the waitlist, I hope there's some movement soon!:luck:

It's probably a higher % of out of staters than the numbers show, since everyone gets to claim in state status. Then again, when people raised their hands at accepted students day, a very large number were from somewhere in NJ. Apply anyway, though. Good luck! :luck:

Hey everyone, I am going to throw this thread a little off track but I feel like you guys can best answer my question I am applying to UMDNJ-SOM for the entering class of 2008. I can find hardly any info on the average stats at this school. It is my top choice. I am a Connecticut resident and have attended school at the University of Connecticut and in Idaho at Idaho State University. My AACOMAS uGPA 3.8 and a science uGPA a little higher than that. My AACOMAS gGPA is 4.0 (44 credits). I have graduated with a BS Honors in Microbiology and a Master's of Public Health. My MCAT score is 27 (8V, 8PS, 11BS). I have had several leadership, volunteer, and shadowing experiences. If anyone could tell me were I stand, I would greatly appreciate. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

I just withdrew from UMDNJ today.

I'm an OOS male (if they replace by demographics)...

Good luck everybody!:luck:

I got the long awaited call today.
Thanks Depakote?!

Are you still looking for stats? Someone posted this on SDN for last app cycle:

Applications IS/OOS; Interviewed IS/OOS; Accepted IS/OOS; Enrolled IS/OOS:

NJCOM - 373/2028; 115/170; 78/112; 100/0

I'm assuming the 0 is because everyone claims in-state. I can't vouch for the validity, but I thought I'd pass it along!

Hi Everyone,

would any of you guys who have been waitlisted like to please share with me your gpa and mcat stats? i would just like to know what my chances are....thank you and GOOD LUCK!!!
