Shouldn't you do a search for this on prior threads?

I saw the admissions lady from UMDNJ the other day

Average mcat: 26
Average Gpa 3.3-3.4

i was accepted today to umdnj... my stats are:
MCAT: 27 (8V, 9P, 10B)
Overall GPA: 3.65, Science GPA: 3.55

Of course you know that numbers aren't everything or as I like to say they are just the launching point. What I mean is that numbers aren't everything but they are definitely something! Having said that, my class average GPA is 3.49 and our MCAT was 26 (from memory so I may be a bit off). My opinion is that you should have at least a 3.0 GPA and 24 MCAT and one of those should be higher to be competitive. The fact of the matter is that there are many more applicants who will make good doctors than there are seats and so there has to be a way to judge who will work harder, who can face down challenges, and who wants it the most. If you want to come here you should know that we are a small community, small class size and only 25 years or so of history. What that means is it is very personal. Our admissions office is very friendly, give them a call and let them know your name and your interest, which is a good starting point. Take care and good luck,
Nate
