I got the same letter, and I am out of state as well.

I got that same letter last year. If you've already put in an AADSAS app fee and DAT fee you might as well put in the money for the secondary look.
I'm a d1 student. I started this august. Last year I also applied to UMKC (I'm an out of stater) and I called them and they told me that with my GPA of 3.7, I'd need at least an Academic average of 24 and no lower than a 22 in each section. I'm not sure how all your DAT scores are but I got in to my state school with an 18 AA and 19 Pat. I sent in the secondary app with the extra money and only after rejection did I call them and find out why. Hope that helps.
Good luck

Well I am so happy to see you got in to your state school! Isn't a 24AA like
97th percentile overall and a 22 in each section around 92nd percentile? So because you and the rest of us out-of-staters have solid GPAs and stellar DAT scores, because we're out-of-state we have to be superhuman! Don't get me wrong, I praise the individuals who can score that high on all sections. But you know what... state tuition is a much better reward 🙂

I got this letter too. I just spoke with Dianne on the phone trying to find out who to make the $35 check out to, and she recommended that I not send the money until I was invited for an interview.
That is very nice of her. As far as I know in regard to secondary fees, they must be sumbitted before the application is reviewed.
