UMKC vs Nebraska

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I applied to both, only asked to interview by UMKC. I have friends at both and both have said very positive things. The small class sizes at NU would be a plus, I'd imagine!

I was accepted to UMKC - so I'll be there.

I graduated from UMKC a couple of years back. Overall, I think I got a good education from there. A lot of it is what you put into your education. Your clinical education will be outstanding (generally lots of patients to go around, wide variety of procedures). It will be a very well, rounded experience and you will be prepared for private practice if that is what you desire. The only negative I can think about are some of the Prosthodontic faculty at the school try to make your life difficult(maybe that is the case anywhere). I had no trouble getting into my specialty of choice if you want to specialize. Otherwise, faculty were decent, you will be very well prepared for boards both written and clinical. Cost is living is miniscule in kansas city and probably lincoln for that matter. I think there may be more to do in kc aside from a big university in lincoln. Currently, two of my co-residents went to school at Nebraska and both had a good experience there and a lot of positive things to say about the school. You can't go wrong with either choice in my opinion. If you have any other questions, let me know.
