Hey guys and I would like some opinion/advice.

I got accepted to some dental schools and my top two choices are UMN and UMD; I am oos for both.

If I had all the money in the world, I would like to attend UMN. I really liked the atmosphere, the student and faculty, the campus, and curriculum. Plus, I'm pretty sure that I want to move to Minnesota to practice in the future and I heard that it's easier to get licensure if you graduate from UMN.

UMD is nice too, but I had a better vibe at UMN; you can get in-state after 1 year which makes it a lot cheaper than UMN. I still really like the school so it's more like an aw man feeling versus a kill me now feeling.

I don't qualify for HPSP due to health reasons so I'm so far leaning into UMD as I liked it still plus it wasn't like some other schools I interviewed where I knew right away there's no way I would ever attend that school. Hopefully as a Michigan resident UMich responds soon and stops ghosting me ;c

Any thoughts and opinions are welcomed!

Unpopular Opinion: If you already have the desire to work in Minnesota in the near future and you fell in love with it during your interview, why not go? Just because MD is cheaper shouldn't mean that you need to go to that specific school. Also, connections play a big role in dental school and establishing relationships with faculty member at UMN should definitely help you a lot down the road.

If possible, you can re-visit these two schools (even with your family perhaps) to make up your mind. I believe you cannot get in-state in UMN; to sure give a call to Liz Holm at 612-624-4138 (financial advisor).
Make a list of questions you want to know and are important to you. I can help to respond about UMN school (you can find others for UMD).
